If you cancel

Does anyone know, if you cancel your wedding what you lose? Do you lose everything that you have paid so far? or a percentage???

I am not saying i am going to cancel, i just wondering...

if you have pre-paid any portion and signed a contract, then it should be written in your contract. The amount refunded (if any) is usually spelled out in the contract.

It depends on the RH. I know in Suffolk County, there's a law that as long as you cancel no later than 6 months before, you are entitled to all but $100 of your money back.

As for Nassau or the rest of your vendors, it should be in the contracts.

Check your contract.

if its the Hall, Fox Hollow is not in Suffolk County (close, but not) so I believe you lose all deposits. Check the contract on whether you would be responsible for the full amount.

Other vendors, some will work with you, but others have it in the contract that you lose all deposits. Others have it in that you will be responsible for 75% of the original contract amount as liquidated damages, and some hold you responsible for the entire contract amount. It really depends on the contract, the situation and the vendor.
