I would make my sister realize she is my sister and not my mother. She means well..wants me to learn from her mistakes..but thats the ONLY way I learn unfortunately is to learn it through screwing up!

My best friends inability to realize that she doesn't need to stay with her abusive lowlife of a husband!

It's worse than just that..it's just such a bad situation. Sometimes I just wish I COULD beat the sense into someone!

Re: If you could changeone thing...

As much as we would like to change others, or want better for them, we can never want more for others than they want for themselves. If someone is doing something that you feel is hurting them and they stay in the situation that mean it is ok with them. As long as they are not endangering your life, then you love them from a distance and keep on improving yourself.

b/c in reality no one will change unless they think it is beneficial to them.

There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self.

-- Aldous Huxley (1864-1963) English Novelist

I will not waste my life changing or trying to change anyone, if they are not any good to me, they get nose bleed seats in my life. Why waste good energy on that.

FH's ghetto fabulous sister who is far from a mother. She needs a kick in the a$$ the way she behaves and carries on like she is a single and liberated woman. Meanwhile she has a son at home!! I didn't kick her a$$ but I told her off about herself. Things still haven't changed!

I have too many things to change about myself than to change other people.

daisybride we are here-----><------ I am busy fixing me, I have no energy fixing anyone else. As they would say in Jamaica, you minding people's business while yours is spoiling, it sounds better with my accent, I promise.

Misty & Wanda, they are both obviously happy and comfortable with their lives

Re: If you could changeone thing...

Once again, Shamma said all that needs to be said on the subject.

BUT... If I could change one person, it would be my ex-best friend, who got into a bad relationship, and heavy heavy drug use. Her life for the past four years has gone downhill fast, and she blames everyone around her for her misery. She's bright, pretty and has so much to offer herself and the world, but she's choosing to throw it away. She put drugs over our 22 year friendship. That just amazes me. I think the drugs have ruined her mind to the point where she can't tell what's healthy from what's not anymore. Her whole personality changed and she got very difficult to be friends with.

I had been going back and forth in my mind about whether or not to write her or contact her in one last attempt to set our friendship right again. But how can you set something right when there are drugs involved? Or when the other person is obviously getting something out of their choices.

THANK YOU Shamma, for setting me straight. I'd only become the target once again of her anger and jealousy.

hey shamma.... in patoa (sp?) I love that accent.

to answer post: I am too busy trying to get my sh*t straight... I got no time for anyone else's shortcomings. If I don't like it & it affects me as a person - I just show them the door.

I would change my friend erica, who after having 3 kids, giving one up for adoption, rasiing two and after several abortions, still can not be responsible for her actions.

I also would like her to stop lying and make herself better, becasue she is very smart, but doesn't use her intelligence for any good.
