if you could go back in time to a different era

what would it be? i actually love the movie saturday night fever lol so i would love to go to a real 'disco' from the 70s maybe studio 54 or a club like that. i find that era so amazing and free.

in the recent past i'd go back to the 60s. i think i'd like being a hippie. going a bit further back i'd love to go back to the civil war era. i don't know i just love the 1800s for some reason.

Well, as far as music & style goes, I'd love to go back to the 40's. I love swing/jazz & the glamorous fashions. But I wouldn't want to go back b/c of the way the world was back then.
The 60's appeal to me as well, I totally would have been a hippie!!!

As far as style goes, I'd say the 50's. I love the way that women looked so feminine - so glamorous and put together.....

Good question, I've always thought I was born in the wrong era.

I think I would like being my age in the 40s (i LOVED the style back then), plus it was about to be the 'baby boom' time, full of prosperity and what seemed like the good times of the 50s. And I could have been a SAHM no problem! In fact, it was expected that you become a SAHW and get a hobby and decorate the house, then have a baby! Sounds good to me, lol.

I think I would also LOVE to be a 60s chick - so much changed then. I would love to be a hippie!

I'd go waaaaay back..... 14th century.

Elizabeth I is my personal hero... I would truly love to be able to see how she managed to make England a world power in a totally male dominated society.

The (high-born) clothes didn't suck either! All that velvet and jewelry and such.

(anybody know if Mr. Peabody still has that Waay-Back machine? -- ok I just dated myself didn't I?)

WOW, I answered this before I read anyone elses. I never thought people thought like me about the late 40's, early 50's ... it just seems like such a magical time - some much happening - music, economy, family life, fashion.

same here. i love the 40's, but the 50's looked like fun, too. i would also love to have lived in the colonial times or the renaissance.

Well, I literally just returned from another era (I was in Colonial Williamsburg for four days with my school), and it's official that I would only go back as far as the 1950s

Definitely the 60s. I love the music and the way the world was changing.

I would also like to go back to the 1800s and travel out west and see it in its natural state, although the thought of no running water makes me say the 60s.

40's/50's.

I wouldn't mind going waaayy back to like the knights and castles era too. But the sanitation issues back then would definitely bother me!
