if you DON'T tip photo/video on the day of......

are you afraid that they will umm not do such a good job with the proofs and layout???

ok this is my thinking but pleassse tell me if i am wrong.

so everyone you use..... you see the results the day of the wedding. flowers, dj, md, bridal attendant etc.... so at the end of the night you can adjust the tips accordingly to how good or bad they were.

but with photos.... we dont see the proofs for quite some time.... plus it may take a while to get teh album i hear.

so part of me wants to give a small tip the day of... ie 20 bucks each..and a note to say when we receive our proofs the remaining tips will be sent as a thank you for a job well done.

also if they know more tips will be coming if the work is done well..perhaps they would be more motivated to get the album and video completed???

ooooorrrr.... do you think this would just p/o the photo/video people and then they 'might' not develop or put together as good of a finished product??

any thoughts appreiciated!!!!!

Good points to both arguments. Who is your photographer? If it's Twelfth Night I say tip them good in advance. I talked to Dom for hours, had a small contract problem (on my end of the contract) and he was fantastic. I have such a wonderful feeling about them. If you have that wonderful feeling about your photographer then I would tip them in full. Good luck.

We didn't tip either of them on our wedding day. At the end of the night I explained to both of them that they would be tipped once we saw the product. They thanked me for being forward with them. My proofs were great! We haven't seen the video yet, but that's our fault for being slow with baby pics.
