If you gave bottles of wine as a favor? (or any other large sized favor)
We are giving bottles of wine as favors but aren't 100% sure how to give them out. I'd love some advice/help if you gave wine or any other 'larger' sized favor
Here are the options that we've come up with (feel free to critique) and possible problems:
1) Have the bottles on the table between the plates.
Problem: Table clutter.
2) Have the bottles of wine on a table outside the ballroom with favor tags/escort cards around the neck--each couple's name would be on the card and it would have their table assignment.
Problem: The tables might look cluttered when people bring the bottles to them.
3) Have the bottles on a table near the exit to the ballroom for people to pick up on their way out.
Problem: a) people might forget to pick it up b) we're also giving bottle stopper which will be on the tables. It might not make as much sense to people why we're giving the stoppers if they don't get the wine first or concurrent with the stopper.
Thanks in advance for the help!

I think people will understand about the stopper at the table, if you had the wine on another table. BUT.....i went to a wedding where the favors were on a table next to the gift table. People did forget to take them. I am having the same issue with my larger favor.

I gave out oil bottles that were quite large and was having the same type of problems. What I ended up doing was having the watiers bring the bottles to the tables after the main course was cleared away. This way the tables weren't cluttered when the bulk of sitting and eating was going on and it allowed everyone to receive a favor before they left and the waitstaff put the exact amount out per table. I had seen it done that way before and it makes for a nice surprise. We came back from dancing and there was a gift. Just a thought....

I am just going to place them inbetween place settings- I'm hoping it won't be too cluttered! I've seen a few other weddings that did it that way and it seemed fine.

I would say not to put them on a separate table unless they are the placecards b/c people may take more than one.
We gave out the marble cheese plates, the box was about 9 inches to 1 foot long (don't remember.
They just stacked them on the table in the middle.
THe thing about the wine is, if they put is near the center of the tables, will they interfere with your centerpieces?
I like the idea of the waiters bringing them out

There was one of the ladies here that gave both favors as you are thinking. I am sorry I can't think of her username. She got married at Sandcastle and she even put pictures on here. I know for sure that FeliciaDA went to her wedding. Maybe you can email her about it. I think she put them in a different table and it looked really nice. We declined doing this because we thought it would make the table too cluttered and didn't want to interfere with the setting of the table and the CP. I think if you put it on the table, it will take away some of the elegance as to how your table is set up.

We are going with option two-- tying the place cards to them. The extra bonus of this method is that it eliminates that awkward moment at a table which seats both couples and singles, when people are counting the favors to figure out which one belongs to whom-- 'is it one per couple?', 'is this mine or yours?', blah, blah, blah...

Option 4 (but you know that already! ) we're personally handing them out to each couple toward the end of the night...that way we pick up our cards and say hi! 9not having a receiving line).

We're giving out full size bottles of wine.
Our catering hall will put them on the place card table, about 1 hour before the party ends.
That way it won't look like a garage sale is going on, lol.
