If you got pregnant while you...

were on birth control (pill, patch..) How did you know you were pregnant??? THANKS!

I was wondering myself. I think the only clue you might get is missing your period.

I was on the pill, ortho tricyclin lo, and I was supposed to get my pd on a Sunday, and when it did not come by thursday, I knew something was up.... The pill regulates your period....so naturally you wouldnt be late.

I didnt feel any different, other than extra tired...but I have such a busy schedule, I just figured that was the reason.

When I went to the Dr. they figured I got preg within the last 2 weeks of January...and I took the pill up until I found out I was pregnant on 2/17...however they said it wouldnt effect the baby...

If it was not for a missed period...I wouldve never know I was prego.

Wow....I can't believe how long it was before you ind....I'm glad to hear that it doesn't hurt the baby...was that because you were on lo or because birth control in general won't hurt the baby?

i got pg with an IUD. not a real common thing. I missed my period for 2 months and then went to the dr and found out that i was pg. we had it removed and prayed that the pg would continue (there is a high risk of mc when you remove it) well here we are 19 wks later!!

I got pregnant after being OFF the pill for 2 days. So much for all the stories I heard about your body needind time to adjust. Which is why I figured I was late - oops

How common is it for you to get pregnant on the pill?

I think the only reason the birth control wouldnt effect the baby was because I wasnt on it very long after conception...Im not sure if it had anything to do with the brand...

Its not at all common to get peg. on the pill..
The pill is over 99% effective...however always use a back up...esp. when taking antibitotics and or missing a pill!

I was moody as hell!!! I spotted and was advised to wait until my 'normal' period came... next month rolled around and the same thing happened.... Almost third month and I went to my OB and they told me I was 11.5 weeks preggo!!!!!!!

My situation was VERY similar to Princessmaris:

I was on Orthotricyclen-LO and took it all through my HM. A couple of weeks after I got back, I was due to start my period on a Sunday and when I hadn't gotten it by thursday, I knew something was up. I tested that friday and of course I got two lines.

In retrospect, I had symptoms that if I had been TTC would have made me suspicious MAYBE, but nothing too different from PMS symptoms: exhaustion (which I attributed to jet lag), moodiness, bloating... but that whole week I kept running to the bathroom armed with tampon in hand because I was sure AF was coming.

The day before I tested I got heartburn, which I've never had before in my life. Being 4 days late and having that symptom finally made me really suspicious.
