Which would you do? I haven't used a lot of my shower gifts- we got new towels, china, etc. I have lots of books, knick knacks, clothes, etc. that I don't know what to do with. Some stuff will need to be tossed but what about the rest? I can't decide. We're moving and I don't want to drag this stuff with me if I'm not going to use it.

Well -with brand new shower stuff, why can't you return to the store for store credit? Then, once you move, you can use the credit to buy things you really need!

I'm going to use all the stuff I got for my shower, but because I was on my own for a while, I have a lot of stuff that I want to 'retire'.
Some stuff, like the towels, I'll toss (because that's kind of gross and they are worn out anyway!) but the china and other kitchen things I have is nice but not as nice as what I got as gifts, so I don't want to just toss it.

Sorry - I misread your post - I thought you meant you were getting rid of the new stuff!! I had the same thing when I moved in with DH - I donated pretty much all my kitchen stuff - it was far from new - but I knew people who didn't have - could use it!

I actually wasn't very clear at first- Saturday brain has taken over! I just can't believe how much stuff we have- DH and I are both savers. There is a ton of stuff in storage, mostly DH's from before we lived together. I am getting anxious about dealing with all of it soon!
