Hi! I'm another Oblong table Watermill bride

I'm using a large Hurrican lamp (sorry no pics) that has a rustic wrought iron base. It will have ivy draped around it, yellow, sage & cream rose petals inside around the candle and then sprinkled all over the table. Since it's oblong, my florist will be doing votives at each end of the table also.

I figure with my favor boxes (white, tied with a sage ribbon), and all the rose petals and candles, the tables should be pretty elegant.

See I was looking at a design like this, but I am afraid there will be dead space on the rest of the table if it's round

I got married at the WM and they had long oval tables - I did an oblong long and low centerpieces with rose petals and candles on either side to made the centerpiece appear longer. Here are some photos - my scanner isn't too great but you can get an idea.

we were going to have the round centerpiece with rose petals scattered around it and then put votive candles along side the centerpiece to elongate the effect a little.
honestly, i don't really mind if there's extra space becuase those tables are always so crowded anyway....maybe it'll give people a little more room....

Jenny,

I am going to do something similar to yours and I have oblong tables.

One girl on here suggested using table runners. Or have the florist toss petals around and running in the center down towards the end of the tables and intersperse votive candles among the petals. Or have two tall or wide pillar candles towards the end of each side of the table.

FM me for more info

We've got oblongs, and I have these shallow glass bowls that I'm putting marbles, water, and floating candles in. Maybe I'll add some rose petals or votives, I'm not sure.

We had oval table and we used high centerpieces with rose petals scattered and votive candles. Sorry this was the only pict I could find that had the centerpieces in them.
We used Jack and Rose.
