eta: I should probably clarify to say that I meant more that if you just happened fall in love with a dress that cost that much, would you spend it, not that you'd go looking to spend that much, if that makes sense.
ha, ok... still not explaining myself properly! Last try... ok... so, I mean, if you had lots and lots of money, so it didn't matter if you spent it on the dress... you'd still have plenty of money for all the other things you want (fancy honeymoon, etc). So, the only thing in consideration is the dress. Hope that's clearer!

I don't think I would go out of my way to spend the extra $ on the dress. If I really loved it and $$ is not an issue I would get it!!! Does this make sense?

right, that's what I meant... not like you'd look to spend the extra, but that you would if that's what the dress you wanted cost. I guess I should have been more specific!

I am in love with a dress that is in the $5-6K range and if I had the money (if money wasn't an issue), I would definitely spend it on the dress. JMO

I wouldn't spend that much on the dress....way too much money in my opinion to wear it for one day. If I was really set on a dress I would try to get it for cheaper by checking out netbride or gownfind.

Maybe not that much, but I wouldn't hesitate to spend up to $2K. The first dress I fell in love with is now discontinued and cost $1.6K. But I wasn' t even engaged back then.
I went to Macy's to look for a present for my parents 25th anniversary(this was 2 years ago), and I was walking around their wedding department looking for a silver frame, and I walked by this gorgous demetrios dress with a jacket with bell sleves(which I love). I would have been perfect.
