If you have very few OOTers...hotel block questions?

So i will have very few OOTers but still a few, im thinking like 4 rooms maybe 5 at the most...will hotels still let you 'block' rooms so your guests are guaranteed a place to stay. Also, since its a small number, will they generally still give a discounted rate?

If the answers to these questions are no, would it work if i blocked a larger amount of rooms (whatever their minimum is) and then just only 5 got booked...meaning would guests still guest a discounted rate and would i have any penalty for not having all of them booked?

Thank you!

most hotels only offer blocks starting at a minimum of 10 or 15 rooms. Some hotels make you responsible if less than 50% of your room block is taken, some don't. I would start calling around.

i probably need only about 5 rooms but i told them 10 and if not all of them get booked they just release them a month before

I have a lot of OOTers, but at the Four Points Sheraton in Plainview, you can block up to 15 rooms without guaranteeing anything and if they don't get booked, you're not responsible.
