before your wedding, when does it make sense to mention that you are going to need time off for you honeymoon? Especially if you're starting a few months before the wedding like not a year or something

I would mention it right away.

Immediately! I would tell them the first day I walk in. Just tell your supervisor that you are engaged to be married on such and such a date and that you will need two weeks off for your HM...

Absolutely! FH just started a new job two weeks ago, he made sure to mention it to the HR department before he started. I wanted to be sure he'd be able to take enough time off for our HM.

right away. from what i have heard from friends & family about 95% of people are understanding when it comes to time off for your wedding & honeymoon.

Should I say something during the interview or wait until an offer is made?

i would mention it when an offer is made. so if you accept, jsut say, I am getting married and already booked everything...... etc. I am not going to be in town on such dates. most companies seem to be good about it especially if you tell them before!

Re: If you start a new job
do not mention it right away. NO NO NO. Wait until you have the job offer. Find out what their vacation policy is. When you start working, then you casually mention to HR that you originally planned a HM for XX day but now because something came up, your HM is sooner...Just fib, its not like they have to know when your exact wedding day is!

Re: If you start a new job
i would mention it during the interview and then again when I am offered the job. When I interviewed for my current job I had let them knowthat I was going to Florida a couple of months later and they were fine with it. I also mentioned it again when I was hired.

Immediately! Always let a new employer know when you have pre-arranged travel plans or events! They may give you the option of starting later or what have you, depending on how soon it is to your event...I work in Human Resources, sorry!

So you would recommend mentioning it to them during the interview?
