Because I'm genetically blessed, I've worn all sorts of stillettos and I dance, I have painful, painful bunions. Have you ever had sugery for this? What's recovery time like?
I'm scared because I'm pretty active and I would feel lost if I had to stay off of my feet - on the other hand, I'm scared because of the ever increasing daily pain. Please help if you can! Thanks!

a co-worker of mine had bunion surgery and was out on medical leave for a few weeks and then came back with crutches, which she used for a long time. she wasn't able to wear 'real' shoes for several months.

Wow - out for a few weeks and still came back on crutches? That's something to consider - that's a bit longer than I expected. I appreciate the info, Dina!

no prob.
it was a few years ago, but I remember she had it done in the summer so she could wear a sandal on the foot she had the surgery on. maybe they have a new procedure now? you should look into it. good luck

my BF had bunion surgery in August, and she still has lots of problems. her feet hurt more than ever, and she is still always complaining about her feet....doesn't seem to have done her much good, sorry

Wow. That's also good to know. I've read that nearly 1/3 of people who do it are truly not pleased with the results but to still have pain afterward must be so upsetting to her.

A friend of my parents had a new procedure and she had no pain afterwards and walked right out.
