Our pipers will play at the church when the bride (ME!!!!) arrives to let my guests know. ANd then after when my guests are outside the church for a bit.
P.S. I am using Kevin Connolly. I found him on this site!

I went to a wedding years ago where the bride came from an Irish/Italian background and the groom was Jewish. The bride had converted but did not want to lose touch with her heritage. She had a bagpiper on the outside of the mansion where the wedding was. I was hoping he wouldn't play 'Hava Negila'. Thank goodness he didn't.

A friend of mine had bagpipers as we left the church. It was a nice touch, but they DID get a little annoying after awhle because it was kind of hard to hear people talk. --Maybe I was just standing too close though! It was beautiful though!!

Re: If you used bagpipers how did you fit them in?
I'm glad you posted!!! Is anyone having the pipers at the reception??? FH is in the NCPD band, so they are ALL playing at the reception at some point, but I can't figure out where - without yet another 'OK everyone! Lets sit at our tables again and watch some people do another 'tradition' instead of dance and mingle!!!' Sounds stupid, but I hate when I am at a wedding, finally get into dancing, then I have to sit again..... Any suggestions?!?!? WM suggested to walk in to them playing, but the pipe major said it would take too much attention away from us... what do you all think??? Thanks for reading my babble!

LOVE bagpipes!!! I've been to many Irish weddings where the bagpipers played during the reception. There was a point after dinner where they came in and played...it was fantastic!!!
