If you went to WOTY -

What did you think of Bravura? They were the DJ. Just curious. I won't be offended if you say something negative, its something I can ask them not to do at the wedding. Thanks!!

I really liked them and so did my FH. Very good MC and I liked how they got people up to dance.

We are contacting them for our wedding.

They are our DJ for our wedding. I found them to be very reasonably priced. We saw them at the Milleridge bridal expo a couple of months ago and we really really liked them. We checked out like 4 or 5 others DJs but we just liked the enthusiasm of Tony (the owner) and all the staff. If you have any other questions you can FM me!

I think they were great and played good music. but IMO, the napkin game was a little cheesy for a wedding.

maybe it's just me, but I don't like when a DJ or a band is too interactive. it's not a show, it's a wedding.

whats the napkin game?
We already told him we don't want any of that kind of stuff, but when we go for our meeting in a few months I want to make everything very clear what we do and do not want.

it was a silly game they played with a linen napkin. You had to pass it around to everyone in the table and when the music stopped the person stuck with the napkin had to stand up and hug a person next to them… etc. it was funny, but definitely something more for a bar-mitzvah.

Just tell them at your meeting that you don’t want any games played

I liked them, but also wasnt a fan of the napkin thing (they made one person pass the napkin around the table till the music stopped and made them like hug the person next to them etc.

I also wasnt a fan of the 'soul train' thing.

But you 'WON' the napkin game!!!

i thought they were very good, but I agree wth the above, they were too 'interactive' too much talking, too much napkin game, blah blah I prefer someoen to just let the music get people up and dancing. But that could be something you can discuss with the DJ when you book.

Last year's DJ handed out different hats for YMCA...sooo this is an improvement

Yea but I didnt win anything LOL.

BUt in their defense, I also think it is SO hard at 'showcase' type things to do anything without it seeming cheesy.

That is VERY true! THE REASON I WILL NOT DO A 'Bride's Review' because it was more of a showcase type event than an actual wedding...somethings we found ourselves comparing to our own wedding and realized it wasn't fair because it's not a wedding..it's a showcase and they're there to 'wow' you and stand out. I could give examples, but I'll shut up.

this is true.. they try to do everything because some people like certain things and some people hate those same things. When you are doing a wedding you do only what that couple wants.
Thanks for answering, ladies, I wanted to go to WOTY, but we had to go see apartments, so I was just curious.

We liked them AND we have been enjoying disc 2 of the sampler that was in the goody bags. Every song I'm like 'Oooh, this is the kind of music I want at our wedding!' Good stuff.

You want my honest opinion? Ive actually heard better.....my one complaint was that they obviously didnt do a mic(sound) check in the beginning....bc the bas guitar player was WAY to loud....and the vocals were way to low......

You are 100% correct!!! But she is asking about the DJ right?? Not the band...

If you are asking about the band... I thought they were horrible... Sorry... JMO!

Bravura isn't just a DJ - they have live pieces in addition to the standard DJ stuff. They were set up to the left of the band (when looking at the 'stage'). I agree that the sound check must've been rushed...but otherwise, they were great.
