What would you want on your wall? I asked ALONG time ago, but I dont remember..is David Beckham still big? I found a framed autographed jersey..would that be cool on a kids wall??? Or are there better players??

I have no clue about soccer players, but what about a soccer themed bedset? I saw some cute things on ebay.

David Beckham is still pretty big, but I don't know how much socccer coverage the boys ahve seen and if they know any big soccer stars. The jersey sounds expensive, and would be a waste if they don't know who David beckham is,

Hmmm... Ethiopia does have a national FIFA team...maybe you could find out who's their star player and go with that. If not, I think the biggest name in soccer is still the Brazilian guy Ronaldo. I honestly don't know how big Beckham still is or isn't.

I figured even if they dont know who the players are now, they will when they are here! I just want their room to be so special.

Pele is a legend, at least as far as soccer stars go. That might be a good choice.

ETA Or something like this?

Or this?

They are both from Bare Walls and not terribly expensive. There were others but I thought these were nice for kids.

I would go more with the sport more than the players, that way they can grow with it!

What about painting a mural of a goal with the stands on one wall?

I can't believe I missed this post!!!!! I'm a HUGE soccer fan -

OK - yes, Beckham is still huge - he plays for REAL MADRID #23 and the English National Team #7. Just make sure it's not an old poster of when he played for Manchester United (red uniform, number 7). Kids notice those things.

Beckham is the most famous footballer in the world and I think your sons would love a Beckham poster.

To play it safe - I'd get a team photo of Real Madrid - I'd be willing to bet money that your sons will know at least 7 of the players on the team - it's by far the most famous team in the world and has a truly international roster: Beckham (UK), Zinedane Zidane (France), Raul Figo (Portugal), Ronaldo (Brazil), Michael Owen (UK) and many other international players on the team, so you'll totally have your bases covered.

OTHER BIG PLAYERS:

Freddie Abdou (sp?) he's originally from Ghana and now plays for DC United in America. He's considered one of the best of the new generation of players.

Wayne Rooney - plays for Manchester United. The wonderkid from Britain.

Ruud Van Nistelroy - Dutch player, now on Manchester United - a hottie - though I dont think that's relevant info.

Emile Henri - plays on the national French team and Arsenal in England - I believe he may be of North African descent.

Please feel free to FM if you need any additional info - I've loved reading your posts about your sons and I know you'll make a WONDERFUL mom!
