If you were being portrayed as a character in a book or movie

and you had a say, what name would you choose for yourself?

The character is based on your likeness and maybe some of your personality traits.

Would you still keep your own name?

Hrmm... when I write 'myself' I have a variety of names at the ready - depending on which part of me I am focusing on. If someone were to write a character that was 'all' of me I think I would like them to use the name Daisy. Daisy is pretty simple and kind of unpretentious. Daisy is not threatening.. but can surprise you.

When I see the name Jeannie in a story I want that character to be more than myself. I want her to be smarter or funnier or sluttier or completely exaggerated in some way.

There are 2 songs that have my name in them that are both about hookers. I think that is cool.

I've always been drawn to the name Roxanne, Roxy for short.

I do however think my name is a large part of who I am, so at the end I would probably want to use it.

I would never use Cindy as my own character. Every Cindy in fiction is always a slutty-ditz, and not the good kind, I'm talking like bubble-gum-smacking-middle-of-the-pyramid-follower-cheerleader kind.

I've always liked the names Michelle and Danielle, so I'd probably go with one of those. Maybe I'd use both and split myself into 2 characters, good vs evil, it's my book so why not!!

hmmmm. no- I think 'Lauren' is too pretty.
I would probably be something more tom-boyish.
Whatever that means.
I have no examples.

Lauren, if I were to use you in a book, I'd name you Genny.

Genny Light is a beer that I remember being at every frat party.

I am torn...

Jessica isn't a really good literary name in my opinion, but I don't really know of another name that embodies me..

Re: If you were being portrayed as a character in a book or movie

she's a Beatles song:

Sexy Sadie

Sexy Sadie what have you done
You made a fool of everyone
You made a fool of everyone
Sexy Sadie, ooh, what have you done

Sexy Sadie you broke the rules
You laid it down for all to see
You laid it down for all to see
Sexy Sadie, ooh, you broke the rules

One sunny day the world was waiting for a lover
She came along to turn on everyone
Sexy Sadie the greatest of them all

Sexy Sadie how did you know
The world was waiting just for you
The world was waiting just for you
Sexy Sadie, ooh, how did you know

Sexy Sadie you'll get yours yet
However big you think you are
However big you think you are
Sexy Sadie, ooh, you'll get yours yet

We gave her everything we owned
just to sit at her table
Just a smile would lighten everything
Sexy Sadie she's the latest
and the greatest of them all

Ha, She made a fool of everyone
Sexy Sadie
Ha, However big you think you are
Sexy Sadie

I think Sadie also wears pearls.

I think I'd try Monica. It has the 'ica' of my name, can be made into a tomboy thing with the 'Mo' part, and is warm and a bit sexy to me at the same time.

for some reason, I need a name with the same amount of syllables as mine.

I was thinking Monica for you.
Then I thought Samantha, and I don't know why. I started with as S for you, as Lau had done with me.

Samantha works too, both from the tomboy and syllable standpoint. I like as well.
