If you're going to an OOT Wedding.....

How/ Where do you get your hair done?

We're going to a black tie wedding in MD over labor day weekend so we were going to drive in the day before, but that means I won't be getting my hair done at home. What do I do? Can I get away with a bun or something?

You can definitely get away with doing your hair yourself. A bun would be fine or you can even just curl it a bit and leave it down.

Last summer I was in South Carolina for a wedding. I did my own hair. After washing it, I just slicked it back into a bun and sprayed. It stayed the entire time!

So you think down and curly is ok for black tie? Maybe I can get two pretty barettes or something. That would make life a LOT easier (and cheaper)

I think that's fine and also very elegant. Maybe you could do your hair curly and then just put the front up in a pretty barette.

Thanks so much. I've never done my own hair for a formal wedding before, so I'm not confident, but I think I'm going to do it. It'll save me time and money. I have a few months to practice!

I have been in to OOT weddings (as a BM). One happen to be in my mom's hometown, so I went to her hairdresser. The other, went to a salon (w/ 3 other OOT BM) that the bride recommended. Ask the bride, or a friend/family member for a recommendation.
