Before we were married, we always used condoms. We didn't live together, so it didn't make sense for me to be on the pill 24/7.
Now I found out that a medicine I'm on for headaches actually counteracts the pill, PLUS I am prone to sinus infections, so I'm on antibiotics a lot, so I don't know if that's a good solution for me.
I just ordered 'taking charge of your fertility' and a thermometer to try that natural method. We've been kind of doing that since we've been married, but just based on the calendar/self awareness/i phone app.
I'm a little nervous that it'll be a lot of work or it won't be very accurate.

Re: If you're not TTC
thre are lots of calendar methods that you can try...but you have to really keep track of your cycles for a few months to get a realsitic grip on when you ovulate and how long your cycles are. i would continue to use condoms for now as your main method until you get a firm grasp on the new calendar method

Re: If you're not TTC
I buy a shot from overseas. I love it, it's once a month and I still get my period.
DH's aunt was a nurse so she gives me the shot every month.

My periods are really regular, thankfully, and I've been tracking them in an iphone app for about 4 months.

I think anything hormonal would not work because of the medication I'm on
Is anyone else doing something other than BCP?

I use Nuvaring
I don't know if it differs from the pill in terms of medication counteraction for your headaches, though

Nuvaring and pill are the same thing....hormones just taken in different ways
The method you are using can be done...but not super effective and a lot of work. I think your best option is to talk to your GYN to see what is going to work best for you.

Re: If you're not TTC
We don't use anything
I've been off the pill for almost 3 years now (went off for medical reasons)
I'm very aware of my cycle and we work around it. So far so good.
Makes me a lil weary sometimes though - hoping we don't have trouble when we actually start TTC.
We'll see

I would speak to your doctor and hear what they recommend.
