If you've even been a bridesmaid....

Original post by autumnbride10

What's the best gift you ever got? I only have 2 girls in my party, and I'd like to get them something very special that they will use often. Any ideas?

My sister gave me a basket of things as her MOH. I looooved it. In it was a beautiful pair of earrings (not day of jewelry, although she gave us all that), bath and body stuff, and a gift card to spawish. That was the best. The earrings I wear all the time and I think of her when I do, and the spa gift card was very nice!

That sounds AWESOME! Jen, were you the one that had posted about the 'journey necklace' that sounds beautiful too....

Yes - I bought it for my sister! I was her MOH, she is mine. Here's a pic. I got it and love it, except for the chain which is very thin and came knotted. But I kinda expected that from the reviews I read on overstock - they are all thin. I'm going to buy a new one for her at the flea market.

BEAUTIFUL! Does it lay flat again the neck? Where else can you get them? Does Kay or Whitehall have them? Can you FM me the info on pricing?

I don't know if Whitehall has them - I looked at Kay and didn't see it online. It was $124 on overstock or $129. The new chain will hopefully cost no more than $25 - so in all, $150. (You can give it without the new chain if yours isn't knotted or it comes out. Mine had a big ball of knots and most came out - I think if I use a straight pin, I can get the last one out too, but it's just very thin so I want to get another for her.) Shipping was 2.95 - can't beat that. But maybe print the picture and bring it to some places, maybe they will have something similar? Yes, it lays flat on the neck. I tried it on and want one for myself now!

And, today at lunch, after my mani-pedi (haven't had one in soooo long, so nice!), I went to a little jewelry store and got her the day-of jewelry - brown beaded earrings and a matching bracelet. It will go so well with her dress!

My sister got me the best gift! She got me Tiffany drop heart earrings! I love them and wear them almost daily! They were about $200 and I just thought it was an amazing gift to give us!

Thanks for all the info. This may sound like a stupid question....but does everybody know what the necklace symbolizes? Or did you write a little note with it?

I am definitely going to write a note with it, to say that it symbolizes our journey as sisters, friends, wives, etc. It's not the traditional 'journey' shape so people may not know it's a journey necklace. Not a stupid question at all!

Spa gift certificate. It was from my sister in law and we all went together after the wedding. It was our girls day out. We got manicures, pedicures, massages and or facials and then lunch. I loved it!
