If You've Ever Been to Las Vegas...?

where are some places you enjoyed?

i want to go to Ghostbar, i know that... but anywhere else good???

(i also wanna check out Rain & studio 54)

we are going in a couple of months!!!

We wandered around and went to some nice shoppping areas of hotels. We saw Penn & Teller. We rented a car and went to Red Rock Canyon and went trail riding. We stayed at the Mirage and Siegried and Roy's Secret Garden was nice. The Venetian was fun as was Paris. We did the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton for DH.


It was fun!

We went to Tabu and Studio 54.

Studio 54 is like a smaller version of Exit. I was told that Studio's big night is Tuesday. I believe Tabu's is Thursday.

i went to vegas last year
and we TRIED to go to the clubs in the palms
but the wait was 2 1/2 hours
they even had a rolling bar along the line lol

the line went through out the casino it was horrible. so we left and never went back there lol

we went to the clubs in the rio,venician, house of blues. they were good

i liked the house of blues.
our favorite thing was the tour of Red Rock though..

also like Rum Runners in Mandalay Bay

We went to Ghost Bar at the Palms and my only advice is stay away. The view is unbelievale but i have never had so many people tell you what you can and cannot do. We were not allowed to sit anywhere...everything was Reserved. You could not bring bottles outside you had to dump them in a cup. They had two lines...a VIP one and regular one...well we stood on line at least an hour watching the VIP line empty out again and again and not letting anyone from our line go up. And they were not VIP's that were like celebritys. When we finally got up there......it was EMPTY....yup they just created an allusion of how elite they were.....we stayed a total of 20 minutes...and the cover charge was like 20 bucks.

I also would skip Aureole in Mandlay Bay to eat. We spent so much money and for a place that says it has any wine in the world they did not have mine that is hard to find but not impossible....

I liked Wolfgang Pucks restaurant in Ceasers and the Island Bar in Mandlay Bay. I also like the Irish Pub in NY NY....

I think the Hard Rock Hotel (off the strip) and Mandalay Bay are both awesome, even if you are just walking thru them. I'm not a real 'clubby' person so I never hit the clubs really - but I've heard from many people they are overrated - esp. Studio 54.

I thought the Palms was a really cool hotel/casino also - very hip, trendy, younger crowd . But to agree with some of the posters above, I heard the Ghost bar is SO not worth the cover charge

Downtown is also a very different experience from the stip, and I've had the most fun gambling there - you can find really low minimums to play blackjack, etc. and I find that the dealers are way cool and everyone more friendly

I have been to Vegas 4 times and never had a bad time there - I think its impossible to have a bad time

ETA: if you are a 'show' type of person, I recomend any of the Cirque du Soleil shows. I loved Blue Man Group also.

Studio 54 is the same way - really long line so be prepared to stand there awhile. We waited 2 and half hours and only moved half way up and decided to leave and go somewhere else to get the evening started. I have no idea how it is inside, but I've heard good things.

Coyote Ugly is a good time (at NY NY). For daytime stuff walk up and down the strip, go to the Venetian, Caesars, Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio, NY NY, Stratosphere - they all have stuff to do in and out of the hotels.
There are good eats everywhere.

Make sure you bring good walking shoes because everything looks close but it really isn't!

stay away from Chin Chin restaurant in New York New York...

Well, it was a few years ago but Ra at the Luxor (where we stood) was fun. We also liked the House of Blues...h wait, Outkast was there and they were sold out so we didn't go...but we really would have liked to go!

We went for my fi's 23rd b-day (oh how the years fly!) and as such I wanted to trat him to a strip club - his first ever. Not that I think it's appropriate for a HM, but if you are thiking of ging, STAY AWAY from Olympic Gardens! I left there in tears, the girls are so NASTY, they were coming on to me so trong that I felt dirty...seriously, not sexy, just nasty, think skanky and ugh! I can't even go on.

I do however recommend the Crazy Horse Too. Once again, strip clubs are not for everyone and I went as a treat to fi (what a trooper I am ) and really Jess, it's your wedding/HM so you probably wn't venture down that path, but if you do, and don't want to get harrassed - go here. They are 'couple friendly' and actually leave you and your man alone...girls are not overly pushy, not rubby, good clean (well, as clean as you can get in Vegas in a strip club) fun.

Vegas! who said vegas? I would love to go to Las vegas one day. I think DH and I might be going for our 2nd anniversary in April! we shall see.

FYI: 20 bucks to the doorman/bouncer will get you past the line at Studio 54.


I enjoyed Blue Man Group and 'O' was definitely impressive. I can't wait to go back and see some of the other Cirque de Soleil performances.

Get a spa treatment at the Mandaley Bay...... the spa is beautiful.

We also saw Penn & Taylor and Circ de Solei (sp?)...both shows were great.

I love the Venetian Hotel....great stores & cafes.

There is plenty to do in Vegas.

i'm DEF getting a massage at some spa. i hear the one at Luxor is nice and thats where im staying.

i need to find somewhere to do my hair for the wedding day too.

I know in las vegas they a show called queen based on the group queen. I know this because my neighbor is in it. he is the drummer. how cool is that.

If you want to go to a spa, definetly go to The Venetian. They have a Canyon Ranch spa, it's really nice- rock climbing wall & all!
I had lots of treatments there & the massages were good!
