I'll ask over here too!!!

I posted this on BHB but thought some of you might have an idea....read below:

Have you ever been invited to a wedding that did not happen? My friend in Florida just told me that she was invited to a wedding of a friend of hers last week, went out and got a dress for it and then went to the catering hall. They were told there that the wedding was not being held because the bride and groom did not pay off the balance...and they were not alone.....there were other people the bride and groom never told..... I still cannot believe it.

My friend does not want to call the girl because she is sure she is embarrassed but she should of let them know...

So my question is has this ever happened to any of you gals? For any reason (break-up, money, etc)

WOW. OMG. That's terrible. I think they could have at least told their guests, maybe mailed out cards or something. I've never heard of that. I think it's insane. I don';t know if I'd call the rbide, but I ight call someone else who is close t teh bride, like family or BP.

Wow, I have heard of people losing the hall b/c of an inability to pay the balance, but it is usually WAY before the invites go out. That must be very embarrassing for them

My hall was very lenient with us...they only asked for $1000 a month before the wedding and if we did that we could of owed close to $30,000 the week before so I don't know if this is common happening...a lot of people work on a budget and might over extend themselves....

But still she should of let them know!!!
