I just spent 2.5 hrs calling my specialty pharmacy, my dermatologist, my insurance company and my gastro.
Turns out I was denied AGAIN for humira! This time it was because I need a 2nd prior authorization for the quantity of injectible pens!
***? Ive spent 9 weeks doing all the research and legwork on this and Im giving up. I'll just be miserable the rest of my life!
And why wouldnt this all be done at once? I've never seen such blatant imcompetency on so many levels. And hello, is this MY job? Why do I even pay for insurance?
9 weeks I've been off all meds. I have crohns and psoriasis. You'd think someone would be concerned. Ugh.

I'm so sorry medical insurance companies can be such aholes. one month they sent me the wrong mcg injections, I called up and the insurance company actually told me to inject myself twice in a row because they wouldn't give me the higher dose if I already got the other ones!!!!! It is very frustrating, I went like 2 weeks without my medicine, you think they cared!!!!!!!!!!!! I called them like every day, then finally I called my doctor and she called them, problem solved after she fought with them and called them inhumane!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why doesn't ur doc call them?

ya know, at this point it's the dr's office's fault. They should know this stuff already. I'm fuming!
The whole point off this drug was for me to have a few months to suffer through to have perfect skin for the summer. I'm never wearing shorts :(

ITA that (some) insurance companies don't want to pay up or do right when it comes down to it. It's soo unfair that they make it such a frustrating process.

And THIS, my friends, is why I went to law school!!! Thank you for the reminder! I graduate in weeks with a concentration in health law so that, hopefully, EVENTUALLY, someone will hire me as an advocate.
It's really deplorable the way the insurance companies work. And you can't really blame the dr's offices all the time (well, for this) cause the ins co's change shyt all the time, and there are soooooooo many companies and so many different drugs and tiers and treatments that they can't always keep track...
So frustrating. I'm sorry.

Make the Dr fix it! Insurance co are such a-holes. You have to argue with them a lot before anything gets taken care of. My mom has been fighting a bill with them for months due to improper filing.

lol this is comical at this point.
My drs office is CLOSED! I finally find the # for the other office, go insane on them when I call. Get their fax #, call the ins co back (why am I doing this on my own again) and the woman at medco fights w me.
I shut her up when I said the woman I spoke w last night told me it was MEDCO'S fault and that a staff member could sign that stupid 2nd prior authorization. whatever.
Its faxed, lets see how they can screw it up now.
9 freaking weeks.

sigh..this depresses me to no end btw. I don't even want to plan a wedding anymore. Who wants to plan a wedding when they're sick? :(

I Do!!!!!!!!!! LOL, don't be depressed!!!!!!!!! I know the cards you were dealt are crappy, but everything will work out for the best!!!!! You have to stay positive, that is what I have always learned throughout my diagnosis!!!!!!!!!!

ok form went to the other dr's location. it's filled out and faxed back to the ins co. Let's see why they deny me now.

AIso it bad that I was making fun of the ins people to the pharmacy girl while on hold? lol Poor thing has been on the phone w me since the beginning.

ok all is ok now. after being on the phone for an hr, its all done, and my pens will be here tomorrow.
