I'm a horrible mother!

In all my friggin planning of Gianna's christening, I FORGOT TO BUY MY LITTLE BEAR CUB A GIFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And now with this damn blizzard, when the heck am I going to get it???????

I know I was scatterbrained while I was preggo and it didn't get much better after I had her, but since I've been back to work, I have become TOTALLY BRAIN DEAD!!!! Did I tell you all how I got on the wrong train one night????

Can I just go to bed and wake up again?

Dont be so hard on yourself

I am sure Gianna will overlook the gift considering you all the love you give her every single day.

I'll just say 'YEAH!' to what everyone else already said!
She won't have the foggiest notion that you didn't buy her a gift, and you DID plan her a wonderful party, which is a gift in itself. If you STILL feel bad, as Tammy said, shop online!! Gianna won't know if her present is a teensey weensey bit late, and we won't tell!

Re: I'm a horrible mother!

funny..i was just sitting here thinking - ya know who is the WORST MOM - DEB. - I bet she didn't even get that bear cub a gift for her christening - I hope she's nuts enough to head out in this blizzard with cub in tow for a gift even though she is throwing an awesome party and is a fantastic mommy every single day!!!!!

Baby won't know - take her out on Monday when it's all cleared up and buy her something special.

Youre the BESTEST MOMMY IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

E BASTA ! (and that's enough!)

Michelle's right, that's what Godparents are for! Her beautiful special day is more than a gift from mommy and daddy!

Tell us all about it Monday!

Re: I'm a horrible mother!

Deb....you are making ME feel bad b/c I never bought Paul a christening gift either, and HIS christening was over a year ago!

Seriously...it never crossed MY mind to buy Paul something...we threw the christening party for him, and bought his gorgeous christening cake. He was given plenty of beautiful gifts from his godparents, grandparents and family and friends.

After the christening, when we were opening his first bank account, Jeff and I deposited an 'extra' $500 in his account along with some checks/cash gifts we were given in his name.

I did buy him a special card (actually, I do this for EVERY occasion), and his Daddy and I both wrote special things in it for him. We will give him all the cards someday when either he's moving out/going to college/or getting married.

Thanks!!!

Claud, I don't know whether parents are or aren't, but I did want to get her a piece of jewelry to wear on her special day. I'll still get it, but it won't be worn on her day.
I'll just dress her up and put it on and take a picture on another day!

Re: I'm a horrible mother!

Deb, I dont think the parent 'has to' get them a gift. I didnt either. His Godparents and grandparents got him more than enough jewelry to last a little boy quite some time.

It is a sweet idea to get her a little special piece though.

I was thinking of getting JA a 'special'first birthday gift (Besides toys).... better late then never right?

Deb, the parents never give anything, I have never heard of it. Are you making new rules All will be well I don't think she will notice.

Don't let Sean see this... I didn't get him a gift, either. We threw him a great party, though.

Like Claud, we also added a lil extra $$$ for him when we opened his savings account.. he's got more money than his mommy and daddy!

ETA: Have a great time this weekend, Deb!! I can't wait to see pics!!
