I'm a little POed!

I'm a little POed!

Is it right for me to be pissed off??
One of FH's good friends is getting married on April 1st and is having their rehearsal dinner on that Thursday night. they arent inviting dates to it. They said only if your married and if they have enough room people who are engaged. Meanwhile FH and I have been dating longer than they have! It just annoys me for some reason, I think it should be all or no dates, even if your married.
He just irritates me!!! Its not even going to last (is that bad??) when all he takes about is divorce and his #2 wife!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I am just PMSing...lol

I can understand no dates or a RD but not engaged couples. Unless you were talking about no dates for the wedding.

YOur right, but rehearsal dinners get out of hand...it could turn into a mini-wedding if you get carried away..

They should have invited you

I think that is stupid. You should be invited also. You two are getting married.

I am going to the wedding...and there are other reasons too, to why I am acting like this...he is a very shady guy...so this annoys me more than if it was a normal persons rehearsal dinner...lol

I wouldn't get too upset or take it personally... perhaps the people paying for the RD can't afford all of the extra people. Besides, all you're going to miss is a lot of sitting around watching people screw up walking down the aisle ... consider yourself lucky that you don't have to go

I too would be annoyed, however think of who it is coming from. If this guy is shady and you dont trust him to begin with then I wouldnt expect much from him.....
I would let your FH know your disappointment

Re: I'm a little POed!

this is just a dinner b/c they are getting married at the place so there is no rehearsal...
its just stupid to why I am mad...I was good enough to go to their shower so I could give them presents...not good enough for the RD...argg!

Now that Im planning my own wedding....I COMPLETELY understand the no date policy. Maybe it just really irritates you cause you dont really like this person. Take a deep breath, let it pass....dont let it ruin your day.

You have every right to be pissed - I would be too! I think you should definitely be invited.

I agree. My FH was invited to a rehearsal dinner without me this past October (both of us friends with the couple, and both going to the wedding). But FH was in the BP and I wasnt. No biggie -- its just a dinner. Same happened in May but the other way around (I was in a BP and was invited to the RD but FH wasnt, so he stayed home). Neither of us got upset over it, its just the way it was. They can only afford what they can afford, and if they cant afford dates (of anyone who isnt married) than I think you need to just let it go. Its JUST a dinner. You'll be at the wedding the next day.

I would be really mad too, and then get over it.

I would be glad actually that FH was at a dinner, b/c then I could have some alone time!

I think you should be invited also, it's not like you are just bringing a date you met last week...you have a serious commitment, and are 'practically' married. hey, at the RD they aren't even married, so they should see your point...he-he. anyway, I would assume that you are also friends with them, and that makes it even more that you should be invited. i would be insulted...

You should have been invited. I agree, it's either all with dates or no one with dates.

your supposed to invite BP and their spouses..even if they are engaged..it still counts

I agree.. all or nothing!!! if it's a money issue they should choose a place that is less expensive so they can invite more people.

it would probably bother me a little bit too! but i def. wouldnt take it personally, it may be a $ concern, although it would have been nice if you had been invited as well. esp. considering you are engaged to be married. it would be different if you were not serious with someone and just a 'date'. but you are his wife to be. that falls into a different category. even if you were a serious girlfriend.
