So the other night I was on the subway listening to my iPod and thinking about the whole act of a father walking their daughter down the aisle, and the father-daughter dance and I just started tearing up like a FREAK! (Glad I had a few tissues in my bag!) My dad and I are really close, even though my parents live in Florida. We talk about 3 or 4 times a week.
Has this happened to anyone else? I felt like such a dork. If I can't hold it together on a subway ride home from work, how am I going to hold it together day-of (which is more than a year away!)? LOL!

I am the same way when I think of our first dance as husband and wife...But i think the adrenaline from the whole day will help me keep my composure somewhat (besides when we are saying our vows of course lol) and also the actress in me will come out and help keep me together!!

True about the adrenaline. I dind't think of that! I'm also worried about breaking down like a spazz when we're saying our vows. Ay dios mio!
I'd channel my inner actress too, but there's a reason why I work behind the scenes in the theatre industry and not out on stage

I get like that sometimes when I see weddings on t.v. I'm always thinking about the reception when I listen to my ipod. I hope the adrenaline keeps us from being big old cry babies on our wedding days.

YESS!! I am the same way... I am just listening to all those songs a lot for the next year a half so hopefully I will be a little numb to the lyrics and can be more composed. I am going to have to have my make-up redone after those dances I know it!

i tr to block it out since my dad passed away. my coworker has asked me bout 5 times 'aww so who is guna walk u down the aisle?' like rubbing it in my face...
and ive learned to make a joke saying im gonna shimmeyy down the aisle. meanwhile deep down inside i feel like crying
god knows how im going to be on my day

That's terrible of your coworker to ask that. If you want, I'll come by your job and smack some common sense and decency into him/her, Queens-style.

iam the same way. on monday fh and i met with the priest and he gave a us a cd of all music to walk to in the church. fh and i were listening to it and the song here comes the bride caome on and i started crying. u r not a freak at all.

Music gets to me all the time. I'm seriously considering burning a CD of all the sentimental songs that will be playing at our wedding and listening to them over and over in my car as a desensitization activity so that by the time of the wedding I'm more immune to them and will not break down like an emotional wreck!

I cry or get choked up alot when I think about the wedding but thats because I am a mushy sap.

This whole planning process takes a toll on you and when you think of the romantic, sweet memories that will happen...its sweet. Those are the moments that make the stress worth it... LOL. You're not alone....I'm a sap too!

LoL...well I'm a Mets fan but let's just say that I bawled like a baby one day on the Grand Central when I saw Shea getting torn down. I mean...uncontrollable, heaving, gasping SOBS.
FH (who was not my fiance yet) was great throughout it all. Drove me home, got me hot cocoa. Proposed two months later so I guess he can deal with my insanity!

im not a mush or at least i try not to be but i know that when we have to say our vows im going to choke up. maybe practice will help. desensitization ya know?
