I'm at work right now and ready to burst out crying

Ok...So I am sitting here at work all in a good mood because I know I am going to check out CLM tonight at 5:30p after I get out of work.

Then my FH calls me and tells me BAD NEWS!!! And some may say it isnt bad because he will be safe...but I don't care I am soooo SAD and ready to cry right now as I am sitting here at my desk.


My FH is in the Marines and stationed in San Diego, CA. Well he has a year and 1/2 left in the Marine Corps and he just got new orders since he only has has that amount of time left. Well I knew it said in his contract when he signed up that he needs to do a tour overseas. And I have just been trying to keep that out of my mind- until today! So FH calls and tells me his new orders. He will be leaving in June for Okinawa JAPAN!!!!! And stationed there for a whole YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That means=I DONT SEE FH FOR A WHOLE YEAR!!!!

I want to leave work right now I don't think I am going to be able to hold back my tears. And I know he will be kinda safe in Japan. It is still a deployable unit so he will go to Kuawait, Philippenes some other places. Cause he will be in a unit called Recon Unit- which is like the Navy Seals. They dont tell people where they are going and cant really have much contact with their families. So I am pretty sad right now!! Understandably I know what I got myself into but still it hurts to know I won't see FH for a year!!

Sorry I just had to vent since I just found out 10 minutes ago. I had to get off the phone with Fh because I was getting all chocked up....

I need a hug!!! But I guess maybe instead of splurging on wedding stuff that may not necessarily be needed I can take some $$ and go to Japan for a week to visit!!!

I'm soo sorry honey!! But at least its not as bad as him going to the middle east. I couldnt imagine not being able to see FH for a year and i feel so bad for you! I would def cut back on spending and go visit him if you could. Look at the bright side, you are still going to put the money down on CLM (i'm a CLM bride too) and when your FH gets back from Japan, you'll have so much wedding stuff planned and you'll be that much closer to your wedding!

A million for you!!! The year will fly by!!!! Once he gets back you get to spend the rest of your lives together!!!!

Thanks girls! You made me feel better when you said that the year will go by fast and we will be spending the rest of our lives together! That is what I need to do....just keep that in mind...and use LIW as my stress reliever and sanity time!!

And Cherish83- I haven't booked CLM I am just going to check it out today. I live not to far away and havent been there ever and I heard wonderful things so I want to check it out and cant wait till tonight to go do so. But hey you never know it might be the place we book for our wedding!! Oh I have a question- can you take pics whenever as your touring the place or should you wait until the end and then go and take them??

I'm so sorry!!

I know being away from the one you love can be hard but like these girls said and like you said, just remember that you will be spending the rest of your lives together and before you know it the year will fly by. If anything it can make your relationship stronger and no matter what, in the end, he'll be coming home to you!

I'm sorry...I know that has to be soooo hard. My Uncle works at West Point and he has to go to Afghanistan again. He helped set up the army over there a few years ago and has went over several times since. Its hard when someone you love goes over there. I think he's going to be the one to walk me down the aisle!

Aww that is sooo sweet of you. That would be so nice and I am sure he would appreciate that to the greatest extent.

I am happy knowing he wont really be in Iraq. He said he could take a ship from Japan to Iraq during the year that he is there= but they dont get placed any other place but Japan for longer than a month. SO atleast he is safe.

Bless your uncle I will keep him in my prayers he is a brave and strong man...I hope he keeps safe.

They actually just moved back to the states they lived in Japan as well for two years.

my FBIL was stationed in Okinawa for 3 years, and then in VA for 2-3, and now he's back in Japan for a year.... luckily he will be home in time for our wedding! I know this must be so difficult for you, but you'll get through it! Keep your mind busy with fun wedding stuff like DIY projects... and if you're in school you'll have tons of time to focus on your schoolwork... also, you can send him fun care packages and letters! and of course, you'll have tons of time to post on LIW

That must have been hard being in Japan for 3 yrs and being away from your family that long and here I am complaining about 1yr lol....

When does FBIL come back from Japan?? How long has he been there so far? Keeping strong and concentrating on school and wedding stuff- thats what I will be doing since I am entering grad school this Fall and planning a wedding...it will be hard to do so though without him...
