I'm BACK - and bridal stores question!

Hi gals!!
Ok, i am back and hopefully will be active again!
I made the big move from Los Angeles to Long Island, and did a civil ceremony, so I am married in the eyes of the law but still have the big wedding coming up!

My new job is going well but the hour long train commute is killing me - at least the getting up early and getting home late LOL It isn't as bad as I thought it'd be, so thank you all AGAIN for helping set my mind at ease

I can't believe I've been here almost a month now! I am adjusting to everything, even not having as much computer time as before LOL!

Anyway, I really need to get my rear in gear and start the rest of the wedding planning! My MOH keeps poking me to decide on colors and dresses. Besides a DJ and flowers, that's the only big thing left.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO my Question:
I think I am going to go w/ Alfred Angelo bridesmaid dresses. So I looked up retailers close to me and the 2 closest are Bridal Suite of Huntington and Burton's Bridal - just wondering if they have good selections? And do I need an appointment? There are some other places too but I'm unsure how far away they are.

TY for any help!

Hope you are well and your planning is going well! Congrats to the new brides too!! I missed you all.

welcome back and congrats on the move and being sort of married.

i don't know about their selections but it's always best to have an appointment; that said, I went to Burton's to look into flowers and they let us look at dresses without one, so they might just take walk ins.

Congrats on being married and making the move! I have never been to Bridal Suite of Huntington but I have been to Burton's. Burton's didn't have a huge selection of dresses but they can order a variety of dresses. Good luck on starting the shopping! It will be fun!

Thanks girls!

How far in advance should I make an appt? I need to get this done ASAP but the one person who is out here isn't letting me know when she's available. I really just need to see the colors, since my 2 girls are from out of town. (The one in town is actually my guy's 'best woman' and she's wearing black).

Newsysuzy (I love your name!) congrats on your marriage! Nice yo know i'm not the only unmotivated one here I also don't know what to call my guy! I like hubs lol I still alternatebetween FH and fiance and DH. Husband still sounds so strange!!!

Cutechef, your avatar is adorable! Thanks for the info!

Hey are you commuting into the city, I can recommend places for your designer in the city

well just in case you are commuting into the city...I bought my dress at Designer Loft on W. 39th St...you google them for details, you definitely need an appointment & I recommend them because they have been great, you can check them out after work, they take evening appts & wknds

Thanks for the info, lookitscassie. I don't think we're going to be able to make it until next week due to my fh's schedule combined w/mine! This is really just to look at colors and styles, but i'll pass the price info on the the others.

I'll check into that store, florezpeeps. the prom is I want FH and his bestie to go with and they both work out on LI.

I was at a place in the city called Bridal Garden. They sell samples and the money goes to charity.
It's certainly hit or miss, and some of the stuff needs a good dry cleaning, but they are supernice and the prices are amazing.
Not crazy to think you could get 75% off.
It's very informal, not a lot of pamering, but all the brides were helping each other out, it was really fun.
Again, not the selection you might find at Kleinfeld, but you might just luck out.
