I'm back from my Bachlorette Party

in Puerto Rico...I was having a GREAT time up until Sunday at 5:00...that's when I realized I lost my engagement ring... I was DEVASTED...we had partically everyone who was near us on the beach looking for the ring - but it was no use...I was being soooo careful with the ring the entire time I was there...I had my FSIL hold it while I went on the wave runners, had in the safe while I showered...etc etc...what I SHOULD have done was left it at home...

I was laying on the beach tanning and I had oil on my body...I just noticed my ring because the sun was hitting it and it was sparkling...5 minutes later I was in the ocean went to pull my hair out of my face and noticed that it wasn't on my finger... ...I flipped out...swam as fast as I could back to my beach chair...but deep down I knew it wasn't going to be there...it was in the water and there was nothing I could do about it...

Needless to say that ruined the rest of my trip...I couldn't stop crying, vomiting...my friends finally had to give me a Xanax to calm me down...

I didn't want to call FH and ruin his bachlor party so I waited until I got hom Monday night...he took it better than I thought...he's upset and annoyed that I took the ring but thats why we have insurance...He thought I was going to tell him that I cheated on him...so maybe he was relived...

So right now I have the pleasure of working with my insurance company in getting it replaced...I'm still miserable about it but the jeweler that FH got the ring from has photos of the ring so she has assured us that we can have the same EXACT ring replicated...

Just what I need the last month and half of planning...Oh and to top it ALL off...I can't for the life of me remember where I put my wedding organizer before I left...its MIA....

Glad that you had a good time for the most part. While it stinks that you lost it, at least you have insurance. No matter what, you're getting married soon!

Glad you had fun! Sorry the ring was lost, but the insurance should help and as long as you have your FH, nothing else should matter! Just enjoy this time leading up to the wedding - it's exciting, yet stressful, but well worth it all in the end!

OMG

Thank GOD you have insurance.

I would have been devistated beyond comprehension.

I Dont have insurance. If I loose my ring, I am royally SCREWED.

Things like that are replaceable, thankfully!

just think, its just a symbol, but a ring is not the actual bond of love you two have for each other. The insurance company will work it out.

I am so sorry that happened to you, but I am so happy to hear that your FH did not flip out, and that you can get a ring either exactly the same or very similar!

Thanks girls...I'm just glad that FH didn't FLIP out on me...he was pretty calm...although he keeps saying 'I can't believe you lost your ring'...I think my mom was more pissed at me than FH...

If you DON'T have insurance you should...it is not expensive at all and is WORTH it....I NEVER thought that I would lose it...never in a million years...I always thought 'that happens to other people' I am offically one of those 'other people'...insure your ring...I know its only a material thing but there is sentimental value to it that can NEVER be replaced by another ring and that's what hurts the most...

No insurance, why? It is so cheap to get, you should definitely have it, IMHO

me too when is that little sucker coming out ...i cant wait... married life is great, i thought i would miss wedding planning but i dont the stress is all gone and it feels great, now we are looking for a house...ugh...but i know you will look gorgeous and i cant wait to see pics!!!!!

I am glad to hear you had a good time! I am so sorry about you loosing your ring. Like others have said, it is a good thing that you had insurance & the main thing is, you are getting married shortly!!!!
