I'm back from my vaca in virginia
and we're moving down there after the wedding ![]()
We fell in love with the area and the cost of living is unbelievably cheaper than here. our friends bought a lot in a new development and had a house built on it for a little over 200k. the same house up here would easy be 700k. on our way home the whole trip we shared our thoughts and options and we are 90% getting out of here. Since my FI is a fireman, we went to one of the fire house and the guys loved him and said with all his experience would hire him in a heartbeat. i of course would have to find a new job and probably take a pay cut, but for what we would be spending on a brand new house, it would be worth it to take the cut. no matter what i make here it would not be enough. It will be hard leaving my job that I'm at a little over 7 1/2 years, my friends and of course my family.
We wouldn't move down there till the earliest this time next year since we have to look for a new development, buy a lot and then they have to build the house which would take up to 9 months or so.
so, our little vacation with our friends turned out to be us wanting to move down there.
Scared yes, excited definately, but I still have a year.
