Leaving on a jet plane.......well...not really--more like an NYPD bus that's overcrowded and not nearly adequate enough to sustain a group of cops......BUT, I'm heading to New Orleans for at least a week (maybe two) to aid in the rescue efforts (get to play cop/medic for a while). Good luck to all my October girls in the next couple of weeks of planning!!! I'm leaving the remainder of the planning to FH!!! He'll do just fine. Will miss my internet and LIW, but it's for a good cause! See ya'll real soon......

Hi all....that's so much for your well wishes! The trip was long and hard, but we made the best of it. I can't even begin to describe the amount of damage New Orleans and the surrounding areas sustained. What we saw on TV is nothing compared to what is seen in person. To enter a house and find families of 4 or 5 dead with their animals and personal belongings in complete uphealvel has left a forever-lasting impression on my mind.

Unfortunately there wasn't much we could do for the people--it was too late, but myself and my team took it upon ourselves to aid in the rescue of a countless number of animals that somehow miracualously survived....we came across 3 or 4 human survivors that we helped get to proper aid....and towards the end had a good 2 or 3 nights of drinking.

Will give you all the full story once I have pics up and running.....hope all is well in your wedding planning!!! FH has done wonders for ours over the last two weeks. Catch up again soon!!!

That is an awesome thing you are doing. Those people are in a horrible situation and it great when people can offer their services and help out. I wish I was able to go and help but I unfortunately do not have any medic skills.....
