my moh and I have been talking about my bachelorette party.... she's a very conservative person and was running ideas by me like having an avon party or having someone come to my house to give us facials pedicures and do our make up for the day....... these would all be really nice if I liked spa things and if i wasn't illergic to half the stuff they would put on my face.... i tried to go to my mom to talk some sense in to her but she blew my mother off then yesterday at my bridal shower she tells my friends that she IS doing a spa thing on a sunday at my house and she is not planning anything traditional bachelorette party things for me !!!! she said she is leaving it up to my friends and the only person to stand up and offer was my bestman's girlfriend which of whom we all take in small dosages !!! She ran it by me today and flipped out that the date she picked was no good for me and then her bf told my husband to be that maybe we shouldn't even have one ............. now im stuck planning my own !!!!!! I know that noone will want to travel off long island and I can't find anywhere to go ........Does anyone have any suggestions ????

Do you have any party minded friends? How about getting some friends together for a bbq and drinks, or karaoke or fire island or a nice bar on the water?

i would just talk to her again and explain that your really not into the whole spa thing. This is supposed to be a party for YOU! Tell her to pick a restaurant and research some bars and put together a fun night for you. Maybe giver her some suggestions too, but she should do this for you!

I understand that some people are very shy about strippers, or drag queens, and traditional BP things (unlike me..those are some of my favorite things..lol) ...but she has to realize that this is about you and what you want to do!!! How about your other bridal party members.. how do they feel.. maybe if the spa thing doesn't sound like a fun thing to them either they will help you plan something else. I am basically coming up with my own ideas for my party but i am going over everything with my MOH.. it's a joint effort cause she knows it should be what i want to do but also be within reason for the other girls!! I think you really need to talk to your friends about it and it explain to them that this is ure one shot at a bachelorette party and u feel it should be something u wanna do!! good luck hun... hope it works out!!!!!!!!!!

i hear ya! my girls know me really well but i wanted my hands in the bach party so i got something i definatly wanted! I didnt wanna do a spa cause i am not a spa person, i didnt want to go to a bar or club cause i wanted us to be able to her eachother talk. I'm so sorry she disregarded what you wanted i think its better that you plan it. Now you know you will get exactly what you want

Im sorry you have to plan it and what they want to do isnt what you want. You should definetly speak up Its your party and they dont have to have all the say. Do what you want to do and make sure you tell them that a spa party isnt what you want Good Luck

I know, my MOH is pretty traditional herself.....she keeps guilting me telling me that this is 'hers' to plan but she's planning a spa day....i've been to a spa once in my life and hated it, I hate people touching me! So anyway, FH and I talked and if he doesn't end up doing a fishing day with the guys, we're just going to do a jack/jane bachie party with all of us going out for the night. Would FH consider doing that for u??
