First of all, I know that my FI is not the romantic type. I asked him what we were doing this thursday since we both have the day off and it is our 6 year anniversary. I figured it would be special this year since we are engaged. His answer, was 'I dont know, what do you wanna do? Wanna grab something to eat?' I was so upset I couldnt even talk to him. No, I dont want to stuff my face with food to celebrate our anniversary!! I didnt say that, but thats what I wanted to say. Im just so upset. I took half a day off today to visit some catering halls, but I just called all of them to cancel. Im going home and burying myself under my bedsheets and cry myself to sleep. Im sooo depressed!!

aw, don't be depressed. sometimes guys aren't that creative. plus as much as we'd like them to, they're not able to read minds! pick something you want to do and force yourself to tell him. it might feel crappy that he didn't think of it first, but hopefully you can get past that and enjoy yourself. P.S. our FIVE YEAR is this THURSDAY!! isn't that cool? we have the same annv date!

Hey, this Thursday is also OUR 6 year anniversary! How weird!!! Anyway, all we are planning to do is go out to dinner - which, for us, is a special thing since we never treat ourselves to dinner. Is it possible he is just saying that to throw you off track because he has something really neat planned? FH did that once...I thought we were going to go shopping at the bookstore, but he whisked me away for a weekend at a bed and breakfast. On the other hand, maybe he's just a big unromantic idiot like many men...but we have to learn to love them anyway!

Why didnt you tell him? Men are RETARDED. Make reservations somewhere. And get your ass up and go look at the Catering Halls and remember pick your battles.

Sometimes when we want things done- WE have to make them happen.
I have been in a relationship for a LONG time, and I used to wait around for Dh to do things, I eventually learned to take the lead and speak my mind.

Well that's what I forgot to mention. I ALWAYS plan everything. Im tired of doing it. I even asked him two months ago to take the day off so we can be together. I went so far as to say, you have plenty of time to plan something. Now, he acted like I never said anything. So I asked him how he knew to take the day off if I 'didnt say anything'. Im 101% positive he didnt plan anything. He can never keep anything a secret. Thanks for being my 'go to' group.

Diva Bride, you can play ***** and make plans with the girls and say 'Oh I forgot' Usually playing hard ball wakes them up

Re: Im bummed
defintely don't be bummed. Men really don't get the need to celebrate these things. I had to tell FH I wanted to go out for V-day considering it was our last one before we are married. That was when he got a clue. Definitely tell him how you feel.

Re: Im bummed
Thanks guys. After laying bed and watching days of our lives, I feel a lot better. Maybe I'll go shopping. That always makes me feel better.
