I'm covered in Hives!!!!!

HELP!!!!


All of a sudden I'm so itchy and coverd from top to back in hives. I have to go to the doc tomorrow (monday) and hopefully he has a magic cure! benadryl aint workin!!!

13 days til the wedding so i shouldnt be surprised!

oh no!! sorry your feeling so yucky...i'm not sure of any other remedies for hives. My MOH who used to be an EMT is staying here..but she's sleepin... i'll ask her when she gets up!! hope you feel better!!!!

i def. feel your pain with being sick so close to the wedding.. I've been having trouble with my breathing.. and i'm on a pump now and they dont know if it's bronchitis or what. and i'm feeling sicker and my wedding is in like 5.5 days!!! argg!!! I'm hoping my doc. has a magical cure for me monday as well!!!

i am hoping my doc can help me tomorrow when i see him but i have a dress fitting in the afternoon and im going to be miserable and itchy during it!

trust me it will be ok! I had breakouts 3 DAYS before my wedding..and burns from the airbag (i was in a terrible accident) and most of my marks cleared..you will be fine..relax and see a doctor. Also try Benadryl! Works wonders!

Oh no!!! I'm sure they will go away in time for your wedding. I had hives for five months continually before the wedding, but my body cooperated with me the month of, and I was lucky enough not to have them, but then they came back during the HM.
Your doc with probably put you on a few different allergy meds, but also ask him about adding Zantac along with it. Even though it is not a hive medication, it actually helps. Also if you still have them closer to the wedding, they can give you Prednisone.

if the benadryl isn't cutting it, you might want to even run to the ER and have them give you a shot - I've had bad allergic reactions that benadryl didn't work, but the ER has much stronger doses!

**I CAN HELP YOU!!!** I have a very rare thing where I have hives caused by an autoimmune reaction. So I technically have had hives for a year, but I'm on meds now that have COMPLETELY suppressed them (though these meds are not for someone like you - just for someone like me with this autoimmune problem).

BUT - I can tell you that the BEST standard remedy for hives is zyrtec. Go get some NOW - it's been over the counter since February 08 and you can find it at any CVS, Walgreens, etc. Take one now and see how it helps - you can take a few a day and still be alright if that's what it takes to suppress them. There are lots of studies that show zyrtec gives people with hives the most relief. GOOD LUCK!

I had the same thing happen to me.
You have to take Allegra.
It cured me up real fast!!!

Buy cetaphil wash as well.

I 2nd jess - I am in the same boat with the autoimmune (and currently am covered in hives too - I feel your pain )

what happened with your hives?
did you go to the dr?

I wasnt able to go b/c the doc's 5 y.o. grandson was rushed to the hospital. so he rescheduled all of his appts. until tomorrow.

the grandson is ok. he was walking up the stairs and slipped. He fell down about 7-8 stairs and was out cold. He had to get stitches and they are keeping hime over night just to be safe.

So I'm still covered in hives from my ears down. i am ODing on benadyrl. the rec. dose wasn't cutting it. im icing myself too. its just not fun.

im am trying to calm down since everyone is telling me its nerves but i dont feel nervous so its so hard.

and poor you!! hives are def. not fun!! i agree with the other girls though that some zyrtec or allegra may help since the benedryl isn't cutting it!!! I hope you feel better sweetie

have you started taking any antiobiotic? Have you been exposed to mold or any animals? Those are a few of the things I can think of....but please get to a doctor - I know you dont want to look like a freak but more importantly...YOUR health! Let us know what happens.

you all are so sweet. i dont know how i would have gotten thru this past year without this site!


i've had then before... no where near as bad as they are now so I guess Im not very worried just very urked.

the last time it happened i was using a different fabric softener so I attributed them to that. this time though, my routine and products havent changed. i purposefully made sure of that so that THIS wouldnt help. ironic huh?

i havent been anywhere different or straight. and if you saw my apt you could actually eat off the floor (I have major OCD with cleaning). lol

hopefully tomorrow he will give me a pill i can take or send me to the e.r. for a shot.

YOu know what is crazy! I have never gotten hives in my life until the month before my wedding. I got hives at work and it was allllllll over me! They went away after I took benedril. Then like a month ago I was doing post wedding stuff, not sure, maybe looking at photos and i got them again (much less this time) So Im wondering if it was wedding stress! Ive been tested for food allergies and I have none. hmmm,

go get it checked out anyway!

update:

I went to the doc today. I got a shot in the arm and prescription straight benadryl.

he said it doesnt appear to be a food allergy but i have to be extra careful these next 2 weeks. And if they come back - he'll give me another shot next friday the day before the wedding.
