I'm depressed.
The Pearl Jam shows are over.
I had the best time ever, but cried for most of the drive home last night.
Best shows I've ever seen them do. EVER. And I've seen them 32 times, so that's saying a lot. I have never witnessed the energy of both the crowd and the band at such heights. Like a good wine, we all get better with age.
They played my song - a rarity called 'In My Tree' - as their third song on Friday. I had awesome seats thanks to the fan club, and met many many cool people...unfortunately, Marisa and I never got to meet...dang weather put a halt on tailgating.
Made a new Seattle friend - Marisa, remember when Ed called out the chick dressed as Gene Simmons at the Saturday show? That's the girl I met! I found her license outside of the venue on Friday, and met her on Saturday to give it back. Got a text from her last night...she caught something at the show and is mailing it to me. I want to die right now. I love their fans.
I have no interest in any wedding stuff - though I may go to that swanky event tonight just to get a giftbag and maybe feel better about things - so I might go M~I~A for a couple of days, or I may not. The post-show sadness is not something I easily manage. On the bright side, FH blurted out last night that if they play NYC on our wedding day, we will be there, gown + suit and all. I didn't even bring it up/plant the seeds in his mind about that one.
I love my FH.
I love Pearl Jam.
I'm so fortunate to have both in my life.
