I just got engaged two weeks ago. Everyone is telling me to just 'enjoy this time' - even though I feel stressed. But I'll give you that advice...

YAY. Welcome!

Well, he originally had this whole elaborate scheme planned out, and was going to take me away somewhere (now he won't tell me where because he wants to use it some other time, like an anniversary or birthday). However, he has GREAT taste and ended up going a little Overboard on the ring - so he couldn't spend the money on a trip!!! Which was TOTALLY fine with me!!!!! I don't need to be somewhere elaborate to tell him I want to spend my life with him too!

We are both from LI, but we moved to FL together a few months ago (We are getting married on Long Island though, b/c that's where ALL of our guests live of course!!). He has an awesome jeweler connection in NY, so he only wanted to go through this guy for the ring. Basically, this meant that he had to travel to/from NY to look at diamonds, choose the diamond, setting, etc. So since I knew he was flying to NY, I knew the engagement was coming.

About 3 weeks after he went to NY the first time, he flew up again. He was just going for one night, and I knew he was going to pick up the ring!!! I WAS SO EXCITED.... However, he called me the morning he got up there and told me he wasn't happy with how the ring turned out b/c the pave-set diamonds on the side were huge and looked really cheesey. He said he wanted them taken out, and the ring would not be ready for another four days - but that the jeweler would mail it to us certified/insured mail, so he wouldn't have to go back up there. Of course, I was a little suspicious at first - HOW COULD THE RING COME OUT BAD??? But he was really acted upset and disappointed and he had me convinced in a short time that he was not joking. So he came home the next day (last night) and I was just happy to have him back home with me!

He was unpacking and wanted to shower, and then go out to dinner, but we are both sick with colds and he looked exhausted so I just offered to go pick up dinner (SUSHI, our fave, mmmmmmmm)... When I got back to the apartment, there were candles EVERYWHERE, I mean everywhere, and that is when he got down on his knee and proposed!!

It happened in our first home together, and on our one and a half year anniversary and it was perfect. I'm really excited.... And also very excited to talk weddings with you girls for the next year!!!

It is a princess cut diamond with tapered baguettes on a platinum band . . . I love it!!!

Lcherian: We live in the suburbs of Orlando - its about an hour and a half from Fort Pierce . . . I never thought I could leave NY but the weather is obviously unbeatable and we really love it - We also come back to LI every other month to visit and because that is where our friends and FH's family lives!
