:( im finally experiencing the sadness of house hunting

fh and I just found a beautiful house yesterday and went to view it. It has everything done to it that we wouldnt need to do anything(except cut a couple trees).... the asking price is fine for us, but i know it'll get outbid... and fh is still undecided about the house if it will be too far away from the rest of our family...

its sad cause even if fh decides with me to bid our chances probably arent so good, no previous houses compare to this one too!

You never know! We got a house asking crazy above our price range. I asked DH why we were even looking at it as we could not afford it. Turns out, they needed to get out yesterday. Number one importance to them was to have money available for their next home closing, already scheduled. They had MANY offers above ours, but we could get in the soonest so they took our offer.

Also, I almost wrote a letter to the owners because I felt the house had great karma and pictured myself enjoying every room. I really wanted it and sometimes people give up the house for sentimental reasons too.

I am there with you... I know all about it.

But you should still try for the house. When I lived out in CA, I knew a couple that got into a house in Napa BECAUSE they were the lowest bid. It turned out that the sellers were getting a divorce and the proceeds were going to one party and not being split... so the seller wanted to stick to the other one, but good.
