I'm FLIPPNG MAD at my job!

since Nov 2003, I have been paying NY withholding taxes even though I live in NJ.

Several times, I have mentioned that for various reasons, they can and should take out NJ taxes and not NY taxes.

now, I find out that I was right all along, and my former boss made the error. The same former boss who never RSVP'd to my wedding or even gave me a dam card.

and, did I mention that I work for a company that does PAYROLL????????????????????????????

So just file a NYS tax return and you will get the cash back if you weren't supposed to pay for it.

I know, the issue is that I have wanted and needed the money in each paycheck. I KNEW I was supposed to get it back and it has been a strain to not get it every week. And, having a NY and NJ return done will probably cost me more than if I only had to do NJ. And, I have to wait for the NY return before I can afford to pay NJ

can't you get the money back? You will get a BIG tax refund!!

E-File NY... you will get your refund probably within 14 days. Plenty of time to file NJ by April 15th.

And you will NOT pay more if you only had to do NJ. You will get back whatever taxes you are entitled to get back.
