Ok, we are finally booking the hall this weekend. East Wind is very reasonable, but I'm freaking out about the money anyway. I am starting to lecture FH on what he can and can not buy and I hate that. I am so scared that we are going to be broke after this! I did not want the planning to be that way. I want to enjoy it. All I see is dollar signs. It's making me nuts!

I think it is normal to go through sticker shock- I definitely did.. But, if you carefully planned a budget, and are sticking with it- just remember that. The hall is the most expensive part of the day--

I know exactly how you feel. You have a nice long engagement though. That willbe a big help. You do need a budget. Our engagement is only 11 months so it is harder for us to save the money in such a short time. I am getting married at east wind also and they are reasonable but there is so much other stuff to pay for. The wedding business is out of control. I am the one who got the lecture on what I can and cannot buy. It is really hard because we are paying for the wedding ourselves. I really know exactly what you are going through. The money will be there. 2 years is a good amount of time. We figured out a budget and are trying to stick with it, but things always come up.

the most important thing is to have a budget. We put away a certain amount of money every month and stuck to it. Check out Ing Direct--they take your money right out of your bank account electronically and you get interest on it. You can take the money out whenever you have to make a payment on it and the interest rate is higher than most savings accounts
