Im freaking out over photographer....

Im so bummed I cant find one I like... I was a photo major in college and I am so PICKY!!!! UGHHH We have an appt with Glenmar but ive heard only bad things about them nothing good. I have nothing done this is just 2 overwelming..... to much to do...

I don't know if I gave you his info already, but I have what I consider a great photographer-and I'm pickyyyy. I was going for someone very artsy. His name is Jonathan Hubschman and his web address is www.makarion.com

Who have you already seen? My photographer is Laurie Studio in Smithtown. There are a few other girls on here used Ken. JennRenee comes to mind, but I think there are others. Try checking out his website if you have not already done so. Take your time. There are plenty of photographers out there and I am sure that you will find one that you love

are all very popular on this website. Do a search for photographers...you will find one that suits you just give it time. You are right not to book one if you have not been impressed yet..

Don't worry!!!

I am using Ferlise in Levittown for my wedding next month. Two of my aunts used them and they were both very picky and they were both very happy.

I am very surprised to hear you say that you've heard bad things about Glenmar. My cousin used them in August and they were very happy with everything. One of my girlfriends is using them this August.

I am also using Glenmar, and know three people who have had beautiful pics from them. Ask to see Toms album, he is great. I am also using a photojournalist, I forget her name but have it at home if you need it. Good luck!

We are using Jovon Photography. They do beautiful work- their website is www.jovonphotography.com

We were going to use Glenmar but decided against it and I am glad I did after their attitudes!

I was a photo major in college too, and my FH almost was. We share a huge passion for photography, and therefore had very high standards for our photographer. We really liked Imagine Studios. Lia has an incredible talent... definitely not your 'cookie cutter' wedding photographer. She has style! Check them out... Imagine Studios Website

Another one to consider is Rolf Estensen... He was actually my first choice but was out of our price range, considering we wanted video, too. If price isn't an issue, you should check him out! I think it's rolfestensen.com, but I'm not sure. Good luck!

Breathe! I think if you look in the archives, you'll find that I had a similar post back in November when I was looking for a photographer.
I visited with VIP, Imagine, Park Avenue Studios, Full-View studios and Patken. They all did very nice work and were all friendly. One in particular however did become kind of a nuisance- calling all the time even after he knew we had booked another photographer- this has come up recently on the boards. I ended up being the most impressed with Imagine. My second choice would have been VIP. Lea- from Imagine, was the only one who didn't make a face at my reception site (not a whole lot of outdoor space for pics there), or balk at the idea of getting pictures at Robert Moses- she was very sweet and non-pushy. Check out creative compositions at creativecompositions.com...they are a little pricey but their work is AMAZING. PLUS...the only photographers you can book are one of two owners so you are guaranteed to get someone experienced and not just a rookie who is available on your date

Were using Celestial, Lou Cohens pics are beautiful, and he has won several Awards for his photojournalism. Check it out

I used Laurie Studio for pics of my son, Ken is AMAZING!!!!!! I definately would at least go and take a look at his stuff.

I totally know where you are coming from. I was an art history major with a studio minor - so I took a couple of photography classes. I loved to do the more non traditional things in the class - so I wanted more black and white and sepia toned and fun artistic photos.

I had an impossible time finding what I wanted. Honestly I don't know if you will like Glenmar - they are very traditional - and told me 'No dearie you don't really want black and white no one ever really wants black and white - so keep that in mind they are BIG into traditional color.

I think verdi's work is good- we just didn't hire them for other reasons.

We went with Mark Kauffman. His work seemed to be the more artistic and more like what I see with better quality photographers in the city.
