Peanut , you are going through what a lot of us go through. I stress out and worry about what everyone thinks... that they will judge me and scrutinize everything. This is silly .. but inevitable , I think, when you are planning a big wedding and trying to make everyone happy
trust me -- your wedding will NOT SUCK!! you will be the beautiful bride, after all !!

I fear that our reception will be boring, mostly. We are cutting out a lot of the traditions at teh reception.
I also fear that my wedding is goign to be one of the ones peopel talk about for years to come about how awful it was.
I'm also afraid people will think my dress is too boring, or I should have worn my hair up.
Most of that I probabaly won't hear, but I also fear that I am goign to get crap about getting maried in an Episcopal Church & getting married by a woman. Not all of my older , Catholic relatives know that yet.

I had the same fears....the only thing that I worried about that I found to come true was the lack of dancing because it was a day wedding....BUT everyone said we played awesome music and the dancing pictures show the complete opposite!
This is where the 'do what you want' comes into play...if you do what YOU want your wedding to be, how can you be dsiappointed???

I had the same fears - I thought I was gonna be an ugly bride, everyone would hate my choice of dress, nobody would dance, blah,blah,blah. Well - I was a beautiful bride(if I don't say so myself ) Everyone raved about how beautiful my dress was, and everyone is still talking about what a good time they had!! So don't worry - in the end - everything falls into place!

I'm sure that everything will be great! Honestly, I have never been to a wedding that sucked. I've been to weddings when the food sucked, or the music sucked, but never a wedding that sucked. Happiness is contagious and if you have fun, everyone else will too!
BTW, how can people be offended by invites? besides inlaws- i don't see how?

My FH's family does funny things with invites...
For one, they want to put all the names of cousins on one invitation if they still live at home (even if they are over 18--which four of them are!!) We are not doing that on my side...So I don't want his family to be offended that I did that...But that's how they want it done...

Well, I'm afriad that the people I am sending them to would not know that FH's family said I should do it like that--even though that is actually how they all do things anyway...ARGH!!!!

I'm fairly sure that my FMIL and FBIL will start in with FH's parents not being on the invite. FFIL I'm pretty sure will be cool with it though.

S@Rew everyone else. If you have funm so will your guests. The ones who are out to get you will noever be happy anyway, and when everyone else is having fun they will be the ones who look stupid. Trust me, I know this from experience. People are STILL apologizing to me about giving me grief.

I started to worry abiout how people would react to everything at my wedding....and I almost caved, but then I realized that Tom and I made the decisions and we chose what we wanted and we were happy! And our wedding turned out great...someone called it 'The Wedding of the Century' the other day (it's clearly wasn't, but everyone had a great time) Dont' stress about this - you jhave no control over what other people think. So do what you want to do and if anyone has a problem with it.....shove a B & W cookie in thier mouth to shut them up! And about the family thing - everyone's families are different....people have to expect that there will be different customs and unexpected things happening. That's what makes it so exciting and fun!

Peanut, have no worries. Is your wedding what you and your FH wanted it to be? I am having a pretty untraditional wedding by many people's standards. We are getting married by a friend who was ordained online, my dress is not your traditional dress, we are only having one piece of music at our ceremony. I could list more, but the point is that as much as we want everyone to have fun this Friday we wanted a wedding that represented who we are as individuals and as a couple. I hope that people have fun. I hope that they leave thinking that some of the choices were untraditional but wonderful. If they think otherwise then all I can say is that it made FH and I happy. Just remember you can't please everyone (I hate this saying. I think because it is true.

my wedding we ROCK and if no one else does not like it, or dont come, or it rains........WHO CARES..........the point is that you are with the person of your dreams......but if you still think it is going to suck...........well................
