GRR, I've had a running nose all day and have been sneezing and now my nose is bright red & dry and I have an important meeting tomorrow at work with my higher ups that are only in town 1 day AND I'm training a new person as well and i can't go in there sneezing, my nose running and looking all blotchy!!
I hope I'm not getting sick....
Can someone give me a home remedy to prevent getting sick. I'm moisturizing the heck out of my nose but I'm Irish and got that annoying pale red skin.... I need my energy to pack up our place and such. Thanks Kerry

how about hefty does of Vitamin C? that can usually help reduce the onset of a cold. everyone is different, but i love Theraflu too....when i take that at nite, i swear i feel better by morning!

My mom gave me these elderberry lozenges that she got from a health food store and they really help! I am also a big fan of Cold-eze.

I second this, Kerry! Drink Airborne at night and during the day (they have a night formula that helps you sleep, and a day formula as well).
Also, try the cough lozenges - they make them for different symptoms.
And at night, put the nasal strips with methanol on and that will clear your nasal passages.
And if you're red from chapped skin on your nose, just blot with some vaseline and sleep over night and it will be back to normal the next day!
And LASTLY - drinks tons of WATER to flush your system out!

also cold eeze (it's zinc, supposed to help shorten a cold)
then, lots of liquids and lots of rest.
hope you get over it quickly

looks like I'm heading to Duane Read during lunch for some airborne!! Thanks Gals. Luckily I'm off tomorrow so I just have to get through today, but my meeting is a 2PM (so wish it was a morning meeting..)

Def Airborne!! That stuff works great!!
You could also try Zicam.
And drink lots of OJ and hot tea and eat some broth soup, lots of fluids!! Hope you start feeling better real soon!!
