I sent a pic of the dress I want to my MOH and her reply wasn't as good as I thought it would be.. I understand that the dress doensn't look that good in the picture.. But it's the one that I love.. NOw I feel ify about the dress.. HOw to you NOT take peoples opinions to heart.. I feel like if I love the dress then that's all that matters. But i don't want people to look at me and say eww.. look at her dress.. Everyone on here said they liked it. I just need help becuase I know a lot of people are going to have their opinions about things, and I need to not change my mind and go with them. Its my wedding.. How do I do that????

Re: I'm having a little problem
The dress you picked was my second choice and I'm still considering it!!!!! It's so hard not to take other peoples opinions... I took 6 people with me when I went dress shopping!! I can't do anything without getting a consenses. NOT GOOD! But if you feel right about it...Just go with it. It may be hard, but NOBODY is going to think EWWWWW when they see it!!!

Re: I'm having a little problem
I saw the dress you posted. I think your friend may be judging it on the fact that it is a plus size gown (and from your pic, you don't look plus size) and maybe she is having trouble imagining the gown on you with the proper alterations. Perhaps if she saw the dress on you, she would feel differently. I sent the pic of my dress to one of my bridesmaids in August and she has never commented. EVER!

OOOPS.........
ETA: I read wrong as well.... sorry!!!! .... But my answer still relates sort of..... YOU WEAR WHAT YOU WANT! Your MOH may not have the same taste as you when it comes to dresses. I picked my dress all by myself because i knew the girls would just get me more confused especially since we all have different tastes.

ETA: Oops, I'm so sorry, I read that wrong!!
It's your gown and your wedding!! What is most important is that You love your gown and love how you look in it! Also, you can not tell much from a picture. (I would never have picked my dress from the designer's picture of it - but once it was on, I loved it!)

Re: I'm having a little problem
I agree. The picture might not do the dress justice. The manufacture picture of my dress doesn't do it justice at all.......Is there anyway you can get a picture of you in the dress? Maybe she would feel differently. Or what were her comments about the dress that she didn't like? It is really hard to know what type of dress looks good on you too, until it is on!

Maybe once they try it on, what you should do will become clear.

Re: I'm having a little problem
Yeah, Its just hard, because you expect everyone to have the same opinion as you Just kidding, she said the dress looked to 'poofy'.. I want poofy.. I am a poofy kind of gal.. I'm going to try it on again.. I know I LOVE IT.. Whatever..I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it.. it just bothered me.. when I posted the pic on here, everybody was so sweet... Thanks girls.. This is the dress:
I think it's up to you.. it's your dress!! Wear what you like.

Re: I'm having a little problem
I can understand how it would upset you and make you feel unsure, because I think it would bother me too if someone wasn't crazy the dress that I loved and wanted. Thats one thing that I'm worried about, but I have to remember that I have a vision of what I want and what I've dreamed of and that might be different than other peoples dreams and visions. Go with what you fall in love with!!!! I think it is very pretty. Maybe you could take your MOH with you when you try it on again. I'm sure she will feel differently.

Re: I'm having a little problem
YOU know how you looked when you tried it on, and you loved it. Don't forget that!! I stopped showing people my dress because it's pretty ugly by itself or on the model. It's only nice when it's on me, because it makes me feel beautiful! It sounds like yours is very much like that.
I am totally one of those people who takes others opinions to heart! My advice to you....go try on the dress again, if you still get all excited about the dress and you can totally see yourself on your wedding day in that dress. Then go for it and dont show your MOH any dresses again unless its in person! I have seen a few dresses that look great in a pic but I hated in person and vice versa! 98% of people will think you look gorgeous on your wedding day, even if you wear a paper bag....the other 2% ahh who cares write it off that they are jealous! Really all that matters is that YOU love the way you look! YOu are the one who has to look at the wedding pictures and love them forever, no one else! You should get whatever dress makes you feel like the bride you always dreamed yourself to be!!!!!

Re: I'm having a little problem
When I saw my dress on the hanger I thought it was ugly and I definitely didn't think it would be the one. It's so hard to tell by a picture. I'm sure once she sees it on she'll love it, just as much as you!!!

Re: I'm having a little problem
I think your gown is gorgeous
I also agree that maybe if you sent a pic with you in it, she might think differently.
I went dress shopping alone. Completely and utterly alone. My mother still hasnt seen the dress, nor my dad or my FMIL.
I think I showed it to my FSIL (BM) so she'd have an idea of the BM dresses. I know my MOH saw it.
Im the one wearing it.. and I felt like a Queen in my dress I didn't want to take it off! So I am happy.
Be happy and enjoy!

Re: I'm having a little problem
maybe just ask her to try it on first before she decides she doesnt like it!!! Alot of things look very different on!!!
