I'm having serious issues with adopting a 2nd dog...HELP

is it really that much work to have a 2nd dog?


I'm so on the fence....I'll think it'll be too overwhelming with two dogs but then I'll think that it would be so much fun having them, watching them play in the yard.

I think it will really depend on the new dog's personality. Our dog needed a companion, but we didn't have the time/money/space for another dog so we got a cat. We just couldn't take our chances that the 2nd dog would be as much work (he's sooo needy).
Our cat and dog chase each other, wrestle, and sleep together so its just like having a little dog.

OMG...it's so much easier having 2 dogs. My DH and I (and our families) love to watch them interact with each other. They totally entertain one another and I don't feel as guilty leaving the house, whereas I always felt bad when it was just my one dog home alone.

The only problem is if you visit friends with your dogs. Usually bringing one dog to a friend's home isn't so bad, but sometimes 2 can be overwhelming for people, especially if they're not dog people. We're fortunate in that most of our friends are dog people and encourage us to bring them along.
