My company just let go of tons of people from all the locations and we think our office is next.
We think the big boss will be in by the end of the week to let some of us go.

Yes they are giving away packages.I actually am hoping they pick me this time.
Since the company relocated their office,its so much further for me than the others.There is nowhere to go in the company and they haven't given a raise in 3 years.
So I hope I am next!!!

Sue I don't blame you at all. We used to live in Selden and I work in Hicksville, and OMG the LIE is the worst. We moved to Merrick, and what a difference.

I understand your situation. At this point my job would be doing me a favor laying me off...but I also know there are people who are unemployed and I should be grateful.

Either way I hope things work out for both of you!

I was in that position, and got the axe. Got an awesome severance package (full pay for 6 months) but it runs out this month and no job yet (I've been out of work for 5+ months, but only started looking for a job 2 months ago).

I'm actually interviewing at the same company again. If they re-hire me, I get a $7500 re-hire bonus! (and I don't plan on staying there past the 3 months needed to get the bonus).

I've been in that position. I was with my company for 5 years (I had just celebrated my 5 yr anniversary and 2 weeks later I got the ax) its a scary situation but be strong.
