I'm Married!! Review - Milleridge Cottage (pics to come after HM)

Hello Girls!

So after much ado, I am now married!! Just wanted to post a quick review of wedding:

Milleridge Cottage
Pam, our Maitre'D was so sweet and attentive! Our drinks, including my parents', were always filled the second they were low. She brought us around the vienesse table and made us a plate. Pam was very calming and knew what she was doing. All guests commented on how great and plentiful the food was. Many thought it was the loveliest wedding they've attended and really liked the decor b/c it was cozy and homey. Kristy, our Banquet Manager, was awesome - I loved her.

Our one complaint - kind of a big one - they did not hand out our favors!! I ordered cinnamon loaves from the bakery, brought our ribbons (i wanted a dark purple color which they didn't have) and personalized stickers for the bakery to put on the packages. The bakery never delivered the favors to the Cottage and Pam never caught it - I am so upset!! they really messed that up, but I am trying to remember that the rest of the experience was very positive.

Patken Photographers - Vinny (photo) and Andy (video)
Awesome. He was amazing. Made us all feel so comfortable, he was so wonderful with our young nieces (4 and 10 yrs old) and nephews (5 and 1 yrs old). He was fast, knew what he was doing. Poses were creative. He did whatever I wanted - I wanted to pose in the soda shoppe, he accommodated us - and even bought our soda!! Andy was great too - he was so quiet but apparently he said that's how you know he's doing a good job. Both were so unobtrusive. I highly recommend them both.

Now Sounds DJ - Ben
Ben is the sweetest most accommodating guy. He did EVERYTHING I requested, played nothing I didn't want. I highly recommend him. He searched for days for a particular version of the first dance song I wanted (i could have burned it for him but he didn't even ask me to knowing how much I had to do - I would have but didn't realize he was searching high and low for it. I loved Ben!!

Father Bob Allman and Rabbi Charles Agin
If you are having an interfaith wedding ceremony, try to get Father Bob and Rabbi Agin. They worked so well together - they had a schtick and really made the crowd laugh but also had people come up to me and say how meaningful their words were and how they loved everything they said. Many guests came up to us and told us it was one of the best ceremonies ever. One interesting note - the original rabbi we had was ill so Rabbi Agin was his back up guy and called us a week before the wedding (literally) and let us know that he already spoke with Fr. Bob, that he'd take care of everything for the other rabbi and not to worry. We never met Rabbi Agin, and was very nervous about everything but it turned out to be a really amazing ceremony.

Hair and Makeup - Carmela Linardi
Carmela is such a talented, sweet - and fast - bridal beauty person. She works with your style, gives candid feedback on what she sees that works and what doesn't. In the end, she did exactly what I wanted and was so relaxed while doing our makeup and hair. My 4 year old niece had a meltdown when it was her turn for hair and Carmela was such a sweetheart and my niece did sit down and get her hair done - it looked absolutely adorable. PS-Carmela does this super cool makeup airbrushing - it looked so natural, felt light, and held up through outdoor photos, my cold sweats (seriously!) and the entire event!

Jewelry - Lauren Kane of Carousel Creations
Lauren is very similar to Carmela in that she, too, really and truly listened to what you wanted. She pushed nothing on me, but made suggestions, was always concerned that I was happy happy happy about the designs. I got to help design the jewelry which was so very special - It made my gifts that much more meaningful to my bridesmaids.

Honeymoon - Costa Rica
TBD!!!!!!!!

I will post pictures after the honeymoon!!!!!!!

I enjoyed everything, it was so wonderful but I have to say that I am obsessing over the favors. i was really looking forward to my guests receiving the cinnamon loaves. i'm upset also b/c it's kind of a faux pas not to have favors or an acknowledgement of a donation in lieu of. I am slightly embarrassed b/c now i'm sure there are ppl who think either that i didn't do them or that i messed up (and being a recovering perfectionist, that bothers me!)
