I'M SORRY, I MESSED UP MY FIRST POST, I ASKED MY QUESTIONS UNDER THE TOPIC THAT SAYS -WOOPS. THANK YOU FOR REPLYING, I SEE THAT THERE IS ALOT OF INFO ON THE SITE! ALSO, I AM GREEK ORTHODOX BUT MY FIANCE IS NOT. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT WE WILL HAVE TO DO BEFORE WE CAN GET MARRIED IN A GREEK CHURCH? MY PARENTS JUST HAD TO MEET WITH THE PRIEST WHEN THEY GOT MARRIED. HAVE THINGS CHANGED?

I went to a wedding at the Woodbury Country Club back in late June. I posted a review here

It was one of the choices that FH and I were debating between when we were getting ready to book. The wedding I went to the reception was in the downstairs room but I personally like the upstairs room better.

i'm getting married at the watermill next april...i've had a great experience working with them so far....so i would reccomend them. and i've heard great things. but i'm not greek...and not even getting married in a church, so i'm not much help there!

crisct - my cousins both married men that were not greek orthodox. One is catholic and the other is protestant. There wasnt any problem at all. They met with the priest a couple months before their wedding. He just sat down and explained to the groom about being our religion and the only think that he wanted was for the couple to say that if there are any kids in teh marriage then they will be baptized greek orthodox. You should really check with yoru specific church because I have heard that churches treat this issue differently. Where are you from? Whcih church are you getting married at?

FYI - there is a Greek brides thread on the 2004 board that has a alot of great information. Welcome and CONGRATS!! again!

AtticaQT- Thank you,so much, I just saw the Greek Bride thread. I may be getting married at a new church that is being built on Rt. 107 , by the priest that married my parents. I was also thinking about St. Demetrios and St. Nicholas. I'm not sure yet. Also, I am definitely leaning towards Watermill, they really did a great job of showing us the grounds and explaining their wedding packages. I am going to bring my fiance tomorrow and we will decide- and hopefully book it. I'm excited! Thank you all again!
