I've been engaged since 2/21/08 and we chose the date of 1/22/2011. We're really working on a small budget here being that we're both going to be college students starting this coming September. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions. Really torn about venues... need great food, space for both the ceremony and reception, and as low a cost as possible.... Thanks & I hope to hear from you all

Re: I'm new here
Just by picking Jan, Feb or March date you save a lot. Also, Ariana Waterfall & Douglaston Manor have packages.
While I was RH hunting Coral House had good prices as well.
Congrats & Welcome

Westbury manor has rooms for smaller weddings, like mine. If you get married in jan or feb its also cheaper. Also look for a friday or sunday or even a thursday if you can pull it off

Thanks so much girls. I didn't expect to get replies so quickly.
For Coral House, could share what prices you were quoted? There package seems really good but for how much?

Congrats and Welcome!! Before I officially became engaged (5/20/09) I was e-mailing different halls for quotes for a 2010 Friday night wedding-I forget what month they quoted me; but Coral house said with 150 guaranteed guests it would be something like $65pp. something really reasonable. E-mail or call them; they mailed me this huge package and I don't even know where it is now so i may have to request another one! Best of Luck!

Hey! Congrats and welcome!!!
Def a thursday, friday or sunday...even saturday during the day would help out as far as price...Def an off season month....Some halls have different off seasons though so keep that in mind! Some say it is November...Others will say January thru April...
Westbury Manor, Chateau La Mer, Majestic Garden, Jericho Terrace, Fox Hollow, all have great pricing on a non prime day/month...
HTH!

Does neone know nething about Riccardo's by the Bridge? I called and was told they're not even booking for 2011 yet. Is that normal? The person on the phone seemed kind of rude. I don't know whether I should just forget that place right away or give it another shot. That had actually become one of my favorites (based on the website).

Hello and welcome!!!
Try looking into Crest Hollow...b/c they can have more than one wedding at a time their prices are cheaper than most and their food and service is awesome!! Plus , in the winter you may be the only bride anyways...their prices are under 80pp in January. Check them out...gorgeous ballrooms too!
Also thatched cottage has a winter special if you are having a small wedding...it's 10,000 for 100 people ..includes food, cps and DJ! After you reach 100 ppl however its 100$ pp.

Re: I'm new here
Congrats and Welcome!!! It really depends on the hall. My hall as long as it was a night the price didn't change for a Thursday that much and friday was crazy. The best prices were afternoon weddings on a Saturday and Sunday.
Check out Elite Palace!!!! It's a new place and everything is AWESOME and my MOH was quoted $65 pp not including taxes but she will be getting an insane amount of stuff for her money and she is getting married next summer. www.elitepalaceny.com
