Hi! Any thoughts on the Miller Place Inn? We booked our reception there without even tasting the food. Is that crazy?
Also, we're looking for a DJ who doesn't talk alot. Any ideas?

Congrats and welcome to the boards! I'm sorry though... I can't really answer your DJ question, but I know a lot of girls on here have some great reviews on DJ's, so I'm sure you can find someone great!
And I booked my RH without trying the food... I did try it after though, and was happy with my choice! I don't think you're crazy at all!

congrats and welcome! i've never been there BUT we booked the Fox Hollow without tasting the food so i don't think it's crazy at all.
as far as dj's go you can look at Bravura I've also heard that Vinny from High Voltage is great BUT i've never seen him live.

Congrats on booking your hall and welcome. We are using In the mood djs. They will as over the top or as low key as you want- most will.

For DJ's
The cheapest we found was In the Mixx and FM Entertainment both under 1k.
We looked at Bravura (2k), Body Rock, and Spin Around Sound.

try Bravura and Starlight. I am pretty sure you can tell them less talk more music. Good Luck

Great Choice. I love their outdoor glass cocktail room. The food there is pretty good.

Congrats and WELCOME TO THE ADDICTION!!!! The girls on here are all so helpful!!!!
As far as DJ's go, i think you should try and go to a bridal show and get paper work on all different ones. this way you can see whats in your price range. We went with In The Mood. We got a lot of great recommendations. and if you find someone, look it up on here bc girls post reviews all the time

We looked at the Miller Place Inn too. It was one of my top choices, I loved it there! But we ended up going with Three Village Inn in Stony Brook. Try finding out when their next bridal showcase is. I think they just had one in January. Usually you can try the food then.

DJ: FM Entertainment. Cheap, nice and low key (as per a friend that used them).
