Not that you have to do this, but I'd probably just invite him, saves you the drama. Honestly, if someone didn't invite my FH, even before we were engaged, I woudln't go to the wedding either. I really feel like FH is and has been a part of my family and I would never leave him home and I'd be insulted if he weren't invited.

Okay, before you explode, consider explaining the situation to your MOH and her sister - you only have so much money, you can't invite everyone, you didn't know that this boyfriend was like family. (How long have they been going out?)
But she should NOT be getting all pissy saying she'll pull her daughter out - that's ridiculous.

i had the same problem with my sisters boyfriend not being invited. my story is slightly different because i do know him but just hate him. they have a child together who is my god daughter and my flowergirl and i was told if he couldnt come my sister and my goddaughter who were both in the wedding party wouldnt come. i buckled under the pressure of my mom but sometimes i wish i didnt. i think that no one should threaten you and force you to invite somone to your wedding. if you dont want him there then dont invite him. i hope it works out

I'll give you a guy's point of view... if she wants to get pissy over something so stupid, then make that threat come true and be less one flowergirl. No one should dictate to you who should be invited. Its your wedding. That being said she has to give you some consideration that you guys are paying for the wedding . Not her. Personally i wouldn't worry about. I have a short fuse too. So i know how your fh must be feeling. Lay your cards on the table. If she doesn't like too bad!! Good luck.

If it's any consolation, I can wear a kids XL so let's see the FG dress! I hope it's my color
But seriously, she has some nerve to threaten you like that. Yes, I would be offended if you did not invite my FH or BF but I would not flip out on you..that is nuts. I would simply reply no ty to the invite and be done.

Yeah, even if you don't want him there, your best bet might to be to just invite him.

nsgraham, I did try to talk to my MOH about it, and she was under the impression that I would be inviting her boyfriend, too. I definitely have to give it to him, he's not the father of the little girl, but he acts like he is. I have no problems with him whatsoever, I just didn't think that it would be such a mess if I left him out.
janwinterbridejoy, I agree with you. I don't like to be threatened, but we'll see if the sister calls me and actually does. This was all said through the MOH.
OscartheGroom, John (FH) is that you? I definitely see what the men are talking about... however, you said it soooo much nicer and clearer than FH (his version had a lot more @#%^@#). You're right. She's not the one paying for this, we are... and that being said, she should understand somewhat. I understand her feeling offended, and I think that I might be, too, but I would see where the bride came from, too.
I think that I'm going to stick to my guns about this one. In the event that there is room later on, then it's possible it will all work out anyway. However, if she decides to pull her daughter, too, then I'll find a replacement, or go without the extra FG.
Thanks for the advice guys!
Sorry, didn't see this post! At least you're having a good sense of humor about the whole thing

Maybe its me, but I think its a little weird for a guy to complain that he isn't invited to a wedding.... most guys I know don't want to get dressed for their own weddings, let alone someone else's. Long Island weddings are crazy expensive, and if you need to cut him then I say do it.
