Hi Ladies, OK, first of all, I have to thank everyone for their suggestions in reception halls. My fiance and I have looked at sooooo many places, we narrowed it down to two we really liked. One was $40 pp more than the other. The more expensive one was on the beach. The other, we still love, and is on the water, just not on the actual beach. I actually like the inside better at the non-beach venue, and we decided that we will go with it. We decided it was a better choice because 1. We can have more extras, at the beach place, we couldn't have any extras 2. WE loved the food, beach place has no tastings 3. If it rains, the inside ceremony room is much nicer 4. We live in Brooklyn, and it is about 20-30 minutes closer. 5. We feel pressure to make a choice, because we don't want to lose our date All this makes sense, right? Anyway, we have an appointment tonight, and told the hall that we are 99% sure that we are booking, we're bringing our parents to take another look, and now, I am panicking!!!!! Last night I was jumping up and down, so excited to have made a choice, and now I am second guessing myself. Have you ladies all gone through this? I always second guess myself -- I do love the place, but am sooooo scared that after I book, I may find one I like better ---- ARghhhh!!!!! Thank you for listening!

ETA: just realized you are second guessing yourself! you sound like you made the right choice and weighed all the options---go with what you and FH feel is best! 2nd guessing happens a lot in the wedding process, cause we torture ourselves by constantly searching more and more....go with what feels right!

Thank you! I'm just soooo scared to commit to the place! Its funny, no cold feet with the fiance, but major cold feet with booking a hall! Is that normal?

yes, I second guessed myself the same day we signed! but it's fine and normal - if you are so excited now, just imagine how you will be the day of your wedding!

take it from an 09 bride I'm always scared I might find a place I like better......but i try to focus on why we picked the place i did in the first place.

I went back and forth for a week between 2 places, I kept myself up at night even! But once you book, it's really a big relief - until the time comes to choose your next vendor. But seriously, I know it's such an important day and you want everything to be just right, but try to remind yourself what it's all really about, and how awesome everything will be no matter what bc of you and your FH, that's what I try to do!

Dont second guess yourself!! You picked that place for a reason, just remember that. The fact that your able to save so much money with the non beach venue will allow you guys to do alot of other things down the road. To me, thats a big plus!! It sounds like you have alot of good options with this place too. Just be confident and keep thinking everything through like you have been. You guys will make a good decision that your both happy with!

You picked the place fovery good reasons so DO NOT second guess yourself! Besides, once you book it, you have NO reason to continue looking at other venues....you would just drive yourself crazy if you did.....Im sure you will make the right choice. Good luck!

Thank you ladies for all your words of support!!! I booked!!!! We are getting married at the Thatched Cottage! It is a feeling of relief, and I'm totally exhausted as our parents picked apart the contract from 8:30-10:30 PM last night, but I'm excited to have it done with. Now I can relax this summer, right? Thank Thank you so much for all advice/support!

I secong guess everything I have picked lol....I think its normal...Though FH put it into perspective during my last moment of doubt.....That we are gettting married and when all the food is gone and the guests have left I get to lay in his arms as his wife....and thats all that matters at the end of the day........I think it sounds like you have weighed your options and made a great choice .....

Have fun! Our tasting was amazing! They set us up at a table outside on the water, it was very romantic -- part of what sold us! Let me know how it goes!
yeahh i deff 2nd guessed myself! i`m paying for the hall on my own and i was nervous thinking if i went with one of the halls that included everything (limo dj phots etc) would i save money but i love the room i picked so i went with my heart and decided all the details will just fall into place. good luck!!!
